Does anyone have the Sam's MC and store card. I was just approved for the MC but have a low limit ($1000). That's OK. Just happy to have it. My store card is more ($5K). Will Synchrony allow you to combine the limits?

Def get more perks with MC so I will be using that one more/most of the time. If I keep Sams club CC, I'd only be using every 6 months and keeping for util.

With their other cards Synchrony has never allowed reallocation/combination of credit limits so I would be surprised if it was allowed in this case. You're welcome to give them a call to see if there's been a policy change, of course.

I don't have both cards, but I do have the Sam's Club MasterCard and I started out with a limit similar to yours ($1500 in my case). It now has a credit line of $20k, so don't be discouraged by the modest starting credit line.

I was too impatient to wait, LOL.

The very first one might have been automatic, but the others I requested on the website with the exception of the last one. For the last one that took it to $20k I called Credit Solutions and they took care of it.

How long did it take you to get from 1500 to 20k? were the cli's automatic?

Keep in mind this was a few years ago before Synchrony became known for shutting down accounts, so being a bit more aggressive with CLIs wasn't viewed as problematic. If I were doing this today I would likely pace myself a bit more... it's a marathon, after all.

The main takeaway should be that starting off with a modest credit line with Synch is no big deal. It might take a little while to get where you ideally want to be, but it can be done.

I was approved for 5k in store with no HP years ago (I had everything locked). I was checking out and handed my membership to the cashier and she was like do you want to sign up for the credit card and I said no and she said well it just printed out that you are pre approved for 5k. I said ok I will take it.

I didn't even have my card before I called and had them raise it to 20k.

I have had this card for many years, things may have changed. Best to read late posts of people that were approved.
