The Chase Amazon card seems rather pointless to me since the Synchrony one pays the same and is easier all-around. I have both Amazon cards and haven't used my Chase one hardly ever. A very rare promo pops up once in a while, sure. Like now 5% on home improvement. But why screw with Chase's 5/24 crap and all that when you don't have to?

I would go with "neither one" if a HP is involved.

It honestly depends on your personal spending, if you buy a lot of Apple stuff, I would go with the Apple card, otherwise I would go with Chase.

The advantage to the Apple card is you can see your approval without taking a hp before you pull the trigger and decide if you get a worthwhile CL and APR.

The Amazon card you may be able to check for a pre-approval but ymmv as it never worked for me or some other people and it just says they couldn't access my credit, but the app went through and was approved.

Depends where you shop more. If your a big apple person vs if you do alot of amazon purchases. I would choose the amazon route . And especially with the sub right now thats a big gain right out the gate. When i did my research on apple card i decided to have wife go for USB Cash+ route for the 5% @ apple. Good luck in your decision and let us know what you end up doing 👍

As everyone has mentioned, it depends on where you spend your money and how important cash back is for you.

Unless you're using ApplePay, base cash back return on Apple Card for general spend will be the same as Amazon-1%. Assuming you're a Prime member, Amazon does have 5% cash back for Whole Foods, and 2% CB for drug stores/restaurants, regardless of whether you're using ApplePay. Sometimes, Chase will have targeted offers with up to 5% each quarter. The cash back scheme with Amazon does even out if you're not a Prime member. Apple Card does get you your cash back daily, while you'll have to wait until the statement closes to redeem with Chase.

If you're not dying to get the newest Apple items when they come out - you can buy most Apple hardware at Amazon, with option of 0% financing over x months (depending on spend) or 5% cash back (again assuming you're a Prime member). Only you can know your spend, though. My Apple Store purchases are relatively infrequent, while my Amazon purchases occur more often, so it didn't make much sense for me to get the Apple card.

Like other have also mentioned, Apple Card is nice in that it does provide you information regarding approval prior to acceptance, while that won't happen with Chase. CLIs appear to be SP with AppleCard, while you're either at Chase's mercy for an autoCLI or you're stuck with an HP.

I do not own the Amazon Chase so I cannot really comment on the benefits for this one even if I shop at both Amazon and Apple.

I went for the Apple Card for those reasons:

I only have Apple devices at home but do not renew them more than the average person

Ease of application since I'm new to the credit world. They denied my pre-approval and sent me follow up emails on my credit progress until they told me I was pre-approved

Apple purchases (mostly iTunes, App Store and some subscriptions via iTunes) and the 0% Monthly Installments on Apple Store (even if you can probably get it with another card as well)

Uber with Apple Pay for the 3% instead of 2%

Apple Pay purchases at physical and online stores whenever possible and if it's not a category where my others cards earn more cashback/points

I use it for very specific purchases that fit my needs and I love it!

The Amazon Chase card. The Apple card advantage is based on whether or not the place accepts Apple Pay. Without that, it's just another 1 percent cashback card. Even if you do buy Apple products, it's a one-time advantage unless you're buying Apple Products every month or so. Amazon's 2 percent cashback at all restaurants would eventually come out in the lead.

Also, not sure how it works, but couldn't you just buy an Apple Gift Card off Amazon and get 5% back on the purchase?

I'm seriously considering getting one. One thing you mentioned that I absolutely love is being able to pay, and then your account reflects it immediately. I have the same thing with American Express. Right after I use the card, I can immediately pay it before the charge is even posted. And then when I pay, it immediately credits my card balance. It's just like you said, it's perfect for managing your AZEO.

Are we talking the base Amazon Chase card that gets 3% at Amazon? Or the Chase Amazon Prime card for Prime members that gets 5%?

Honestly, either way, I'd say Chase Amazon by a mile. I have both, and the Chase Amazon gets way more use, even on Apple products. You can buy Apple products on Amazon, and usually at a better price than from Apple itself. And you'd get more cash back if we're talking about the Prime card. The only thing I use my Apple card for is for the recurring Apple services (Apple Care, Apple Music, etc).

Some people are mentioning the Apple Card interface. It's fine, but not so much better than the Chase app that it's a big factor for me. But to each their own.

While there have been posts declaring one card the only obvious choice for any right-thinking person (and of course both cards have been the chosen one) as others have said it really depends on your spending, and to a lesser extent, which other cards you have.

For example, the Apple card gives a minimum of 2% everywhere when you use Apple Pay. For many of us now, a 2% flat rate card is pretty standard, so that really isn't much of a selling point. The 3% merchants might or might not be, depending a) if you shop there, and b) whether you have a 3+% card already for such purchases.

As someone who spends a lot on Amazon and Whole Foods, and nothing on Apple, the answer is somewhat clear. But to my mind, the question is roughly the same as asking "World of Hyatt credit card or Target Redcard MC?????" I think there the "It depends where you spend" answer would be more common!
