Penfed Pre-qual back up and running

After their short lived pre-qual was taken down last week I thought I'd check newly today and the pre-qual option is back on the site for each of their cards. Hopefully it's here to stay as it is definitely a nice feature.

Yes just ran through it newly and it worked for me as a member. Even more curious was that it preapproved me for the Pathfinder at a $3500 limit...a card they denied me for earlier this month a few days before they opened up the pre-qual option initially. If I didn't have 4 new accounts reporting I might take the plunge but think I'm going to hold off.

It did not work for me when I was logged in and had to log out.

i checked and it shows prequalified - but how realiable is this. i dont wanne be the first one to try it haha

Would be great to know if its legit seeing as i got denied twice already for the same card and all of a sudden im prequalified for all their cards. Won't be getting any of them anymore but still good to know if its a legit pre qualification. Annnd will be great to know if the amount they prequalify you at is that amount you really get....

@Trini88 @Ilinferno i have a feeling if you both were denied for the cards that you are prequalifed for , i would assume that these prequalifications may not be accurate. I also want to find out but im way to scared to try even though I have 0 INQ on my EQ.

Oh wow... I would definitely apply, but I'm not sure If I should since I recently applied for the Amazon Chase card... I'm currently at 2/24, just waiting on the Chase and AMEX card to report...

I wonder if their CC prequal will be as good as their personal loan prequal, because that one is pretty solid.

Has anybody tried that was already a member? Just out of curiosity I checked pre qualify (for huuby) it asked if already member log in then takes you to application page then takes you back to prequalify page 🙄

As a fan of science I decided to go through with the Pathfinder application which had the pre-qual for 3500. I already lost a hard pull to them earlier this month and no other lender I have has pulled Eq so the only inquiry reporting for me on Eq is from Penfed. Fingers crossed that they use the soft pull from pre-qual and the previous hard pull they aready got from me. The application went to manual review. I should be contacted for further data or approval/denial within 24/48 hours. I'll let everyone know what happens... (Also my Eq F9 is 755 which is a good 60 points higher than F8 - this was my score when I was denied)

Also forgot to mention no HP notification on Eq yet...

I'm not a member but remember reading (when this prequal was last briefly available) that members weren't able to check prequal. Select 'not a member' for hubby and check as if he's not a member

So it let me log in and pre-filled all my info for the pre-qual app, once it submitted the wheel spun and then the page crashed. I then checked on the Penfed app on my phone under tools, application status, and the pre-qual was there as conditionally approved under the Active Loan Application section. Looks like they are still working through some bugs.

@Ilinferno when i prequalifed it shows up under my application section too but each time i go to access the application it crashes or brings me to an error page ... definitly has some bugs for sure
