Citizens Bank Pre Approval

Does Citizens Bank do a HP for a pre approved offer? I saw some people say they do not do a HP only a SP.

My only experience was going into a branch to ask about the details of their then great offer (5% on everything for several months), was told I was already preapproved (I hadn't checked anywhere) and got the card with a SP.

There have been mixed reports on both sides of the pre-approved front. Some have been approved with SP while others have incurred a HP. Both on EQ.

Only way to know for sure in your specific situation is when and/or if you decide to pull the trigger.

I always wondered this as well. I get these pre-approved offers for their 1.8% CB card all the time (I am a Citizen customer) but I don't take the plunge because I have 2% and 3% cards and I am trying to be good to get under 5/24 for a CHASE card.

But if it was a guaranteed SP, I *might* take a shot.

from my understanding, if pre-approved physically in branch its SP, otherwise HP

I'm upset that my HSBC credit card that was supposed to go to Citizens never happened but I got this offer the other day I don't need a new credit card if It was a SP I think I do it. I do have deposit accounts with Citizens (From HSBC) and a LOC with them.
