i have a capital one negative on experian which i settled for less. how will this affect my application for credit cards with lenders and my limits? thank you.

Limits would be relative to a lot of factors, income, and all items in your credit profile.

If you want another cap 1 card check their prequalify page first

How old is this ? In general terms, if it's recent then it will definately hurt your chances of appoval. In addition to the settlement if there also late payments on this account, these will also be a negative factor.

If you're targeting a specifc creditor then let us know who and others can chime in with their experiences.

Unfortunately whether you default for a dollar or thousands it still will hurt you. The fact is you stiffed them. Hang in there, assuming all debts are paid on time the impact will fade as time is the ultimate healer in regards to that situation.

When I settled c/os.. fico scores when up 16 pts..but CCs saw the settled c/o as a negative.. time dims the negatives
