Yesterday i made the decision to product change my Chase Freedom Unlimited that i have since January to the Freedom Flex. In doing so, i want to use the 5% back on Gas before this quarter ends and now i have a Mastercard back in my wallet after i closed my first Capital One Secured.

Also means im "upgrading" from a standard Visa to a World Elite Mastercard.

Any reason you didn't just apply for that card to build the chase trifecta. Overall I find more usage on the cfu then the cf I've gone quarters with no spend on the freedom due to not having charges for any pick

I was going to say something similar. That a new application should have been considered. Not because I think the Freedom Unlimited is a great card (no need to look at 1.5% CB cards anymore with 2% CB the 'new low', IMHO) but for the $200 intro bonus and the 5% gas for a year. I love my Freedom card. This quarter is 5% gas and movies, perfect.

Exactly the reasoning why i PC'd. I dont want any more uneccessary hits to my scores, plus im already 5/24. I thought this will be a nice upgrade in terms of benefits. I get 1.5% on everything with my Amex Charles Schwab Investor card anyway.

didnt think making a new thread would warrant the question but to PCed cards do intros just get wasted on those say you close and apply for the same card in the future or even pc from before applying again
