The Venture and Venture X are already 2% cards. Very easy to redeem with the lookback feature.

I doubt chase goes that route with a general 2% catchall card all their cards have lockups with a company the reason you want United, southwest, etc you have to go thru them and besides usually a higher reward. Maybe the closest is the cfu and even though it's 1.5% you can maximize the return by transferring to travel miles

Then again the double cash has a SUB right now so I'm tempted to apply for it.

Well a possibility would be the bofa line of cards the reason being that they raise the reward level based on how much additional biz you do with them right now I have platinum honors so get 5.25% on certain cards. I think they came out with the unlimited cash at 1.5% but you can level up. I also like them for cashback becuz you can decide to bank the savings if you choose vs offsetting your purchases

They went to the manufacturer and obtained it rather than the usual supply chain. They impressed me big time!

There has been a hit and miss on lawn mowers and snow blowers for the last two plus years due to supply chain shortages here in the outback!

Chase has many other reward cards, no need to grab a basic 2% from them even if they have it at some point.
