      <description>&lt;P&gt;On 9/28/22 i tried to do a bt on the discover site, 2400 from my bread cb amex to my new disco 6k sl 15 months at zero bt offer with cut off date of 10/10. It wouldnt allow me to do it on the site so i called disco and a csr put it thru. the 2400 showed up as a balance on my disco but every time i checked recently my bread amex was the same balance.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Last night i get an email from disco stating the following,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;We are writing regarding the following Balance Transfer on your Discover it® Card Account:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;October 3, 2022&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;$2,400.00&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;AMERICAN EXPRESS&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Unfortunately, we are not able to process your Balance Transfer at this time, for one of the reasons below:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;•&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Your account number with the creditor is incorrect&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;•&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The check was not cashed by the creditor within 90 days&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;•&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Your account with the creditor is already paid in full&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;•&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The check was returned by the U.S Postal Service&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;•&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The check was stopped per customer request&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Then i checked my disco balance and it said zero. i called customer service and talked to a csr and a supervisor and confirmed that i gave them the correct account number but the postal service returned the check and since im past the 10/10 cutoff date they cant offer a replacement bt. the supervisor offered to give me a cli on my disco# 1 because i have a bt offer for 12 months at zero but when he checked he noticed i just got a cli on that card last month for 1500, bringing the cl on that card to 4500.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;my balance on card #1 is 569 so i didnt want to add 2400 to that and have my util sky high. i asked to join the 2 cards but the supervisor said they werent eligible.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I think what happened is disco might have sent the bt check to amex directly instead of to comenity capital bank since it is a cobranded card.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Anyway the supervisor told me he is putting in a ticket for upper management to review this since he cant over ride it and redo the bt since its past the cutoff date of 10/10. Fingers crossed it will get rectified or it will cost me a bundle in bread interest going forward.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;UGH&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

In my mind i think they should honor that timely bt request and redo it again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;EDIT - The csr mentioned it was an amex after i gave her the card number, i have no clue what popped up on her screen. this episode might help someone else that might encounter this issue with disco, make sure you give the csr the bank and address regardless of what they say to you.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;SEMI UPDATE - I called again today and spoke to a Discover supervisor. She looked up the transaction and told me the snarl took place when they entered the Bread cb Amex card number and it auto populated American Express's adress not the Comenity Capital bank address. once again they are reconsidering putting thru the transaction again with the correct address, she said they will contact me in a day or two.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;fingers crossed.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Discover just called me and denied to reinstate the bt. the lady said it was up to me to provide the proper info even though when i originally gave the csr the card number and amount and she asked me no other questions. there is no appeal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;this is a warning example to other folks that if they do the bt with a csr give all the info regardless of what they say.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Once again, a client has to suffer because of ineptitude on the side of the financial institution. I'm sorry to hear they didn't work to make you whole. It's crazy that they literally made the mistakes yet you're the one who has to deal with the consequences. I'm not sure if anyone is aware of any entity that you could contact to try to make this right?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Perhaps file a complaint with the CFPB?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;P&gt;Nah its unlikely i will file a complaint, i did call them again though and got another supervisor. she said the bt offer on my first disco 12 months for zero int is good until december 20th. i am considering taking half the 2400 onto that bt and wait because that supervisor told me at some point they will send me another bt offer on card #2. i didnt want to put 2400 more on card # 1 because that one has a cl of 4500 and a current balance of 569 plus the bt fee is 5 pct, my utility would be sky high if i did that.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;two good dp's that came from this,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1- do your bt at least 2 weeks ahead of cutoff date because it takes discover 12 days to notify you of a check return. in my case their retutned check letter was dated 10/3/22&amp;nbsp; but the info was emailed to me 10/15/22, the cutoff date for the bt was 10/10.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2- I was advised by that supervisor to always request bt checks when you want to do a bt because they cant over ride the pre populated addresses in their system. if you use a check you can address it yourself&lt;/P&gt;</description>
