Disco calls this a BT, but its cash in the bank at a promo rate of 3% w/ 12 mo repayment.

It's a BT. Disco allows money to be deposited to checking, hardly unique to them.

They (just like many other lenders) will mail checks in addition to card to card BT

As mentioned above, Discover is one of a select few lenders that allows BTs to be deposited into a checking account via ACH which won't code as a cash advance. Other FIs such as Citi, Barclays, Bank Of America, etc., have similar BT feature.
