Redstone Visa Signature now has 5% Cash Back on Restaurants and Gas!

Couldn't find it posted here and doesn't seem wildly known yet. Looks like the change started 1/1/23. I'm not sure if I'm going to go for it yet. It could easily replace two of my Citi Custom Cash.

I received the 'coming soon' email on that particular card on 11/9/22 anticipating the changes to the current rewards structure which seems like a step in the right direction 😎

There's definitely not a lot of discussion about Redstone FCU, but I recall @woodyman100 inspiring me to get this particular CC in addition to the existing Rural King version ☺️

Looks like I'll be adding a new CU membership this month. Wondering if this rewards structure will be similar to the US Alliance approach, 5% good through 2023.

There is a cap. 70K points gas/restaurants, 42K points for utilities, telecom, grocery, discount stores, and wholesale clubs. Each category is specifically shown with an individual cap, and a quick glance didn't show me otherwise. Points are worth .5cpp, so $350 and $210 respectively. That's assuming 2pts/$ cash out value.

As mentioned upthread, there are caps, but no rotating categories and this was just recently introduced for existing cardholders as an enhanced version of the card. Whether it lasts forever, no one knows. We know that things can change just like AOD ending the VS application train and Affinity FCU changing some things rewards-wise recently or the USAlliance uncertainty (year-to-year approach).

Looking at the T&C's, nice that the points can be redeemed for cash into a Redstone account, and minimum redemption is 5 bucks. 3-year expiration of points, but don't see that as being an issue with low redemption min.

Nice, thank you @Big_Zeke , I was about to plop down $35 for Land Trust of N. Alabama. Figured since a bunch of us are already mountain bikers of Northeast AL, might as well help out with some trail conservation too, haha! (AOD jokes comin' in handy)

In the membership application process: "Redstone Federal Credit Union will perform a credit inquiry for all applicants' background checks. If you have a credit freeze, you must temporarily release it to apply."

For lack of relevant recent DP's, is the word on the street that this will be SP?

At the risk of the question being more fitting for the Personal Finance section (i.e. membership), when I joined in early 2020, it was SP. I would venture to think not much has changed as far as membership unless any recent posts in PF would indicate otherwise. For sure Chex needs to be thawed.

Credit Products will definitely be HP (Experian).

You need your Sportsman to be proper Rural King while rolling in your Bed, Bath, and Beyond (I'm mostly interested in "beyond")
