Hey everyone. For those of you like me that didn't want to cancel your Uber card and instead let it roll over to a worthless view card check your email as I just received an awesome offer. I've been meaning to put a small purchase on the card to avoid closure and to my surprise I just received an offer for 5x additional points on anything. Of course there's a low cap as the max is 500 dollars, but that's an additional 25 dollars cash back on virtually anything I decide to purchase not including the standard points. Now time for me to check the categories available for the card and plan to maximize for a total of 7x - 8x rewards. So excited to finally get some action out of this card. Hopefully everyone with the card will have the offer 😁.

I got an excuse to pull my View card out of the sock drawer. I assume this promo is targeted, it's also the type of offer that could also be extended in 1 form or the other to other cards issued by BarclayUS.

In short, earn an additional 5X points (5%) back on all purchases up to $500 total spend through April 30th as a statement credit i.e. earn anywhere from 6-9% back.

You have to log in online to enroll, and now for the fine print.

This is a sweet deal.

I have the Barclays AARP card only because it was converted from Chase AARP (3% gas and dining) to Barclays (3% gas and drugstore).

I don't see this 5x offer on my Barclays AARP but if I did, I may have reservations. Doesn't Barclays have a $25 minimum redemption? One better make darn sure they'll reach $25 CB before starting to spend on a sockdrawered Barclays card offer. In this case getting 5x through end of April seems easy enough to reach $25.

Got my targeted offer by email yesterday for 5x points on all purchases up to $500 through 4/30. I was very close to canceling since this card doesn't stand out in my card lineup and had redeemed my points for a direct deposit to my bank at 1 CPP. Still on the fence if I'll sock drawer it after meeting the $500 spend in April.
