Well, now a bit of drama...

As I was getting ready to PC my CSP to the CFF

..when I logged in, I see a new shiny offer:

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Sighhhh, so now I need to decide if I want to accept this? ...and the ramifications of getting out of the CSP if I do.

[x] $200 free dollars is hard to pass up ....but at the same time I'm not sure I want the drama of a new account on my report and I'd still holding the CSP (which my whole reason to PC was to get out of the CSP annual fee)

[x] $10K CL offered is well below my CSP credit line, wondering if I took this offer, could I move my CSP line (or the majority of it) to the FLEX card and then close my CSP?

[x] I'll probably forget this offer and just do my original plan, but I'll think about it for a bit for a day or two.

I'm on a great streak with no new accounts and I'd hate to blow that. However, 200bucks and potentially a $30K CL (if allowed to transfer the CSP before I close it) is tempting.

Any wisdom appreciated, .....there are likely things I haven't thought of.

Ramble: I rarely get offers from Chase, other than promos to open savings/checkings. Never have had a CC offer. I can't help but wonder if they knew I was googling info on the FLEX card (last week) and never applied. Marketing is getting very clever in today's world.

Wondering if I can Product Change from my Chase Saphire Preferred to Chase Freedom Flex?

Ramble:

Have had the CSP for a few years, I'm not in the Chase ecosystem, hence it only gets the occassional swipe (typically for personal rental car). While not a high Annual Fee, the $95 does not pencil out for *me*.

It's my only Chase product, I'd like to keep a toe in the water with them so I'm hoping to change to a card that will keep my engaged with them, without creating a new account and no AF. The Flex seems like it might be a decent choice and I'd swipe it at least occassionally when the calendar incentives line up.

Any wisdom appreciated. BTW just paid my rewewal (Feb statement) on the CSP.

They will probably have to issue you a new card number, switching from Visa to MC, so keep that in mind. Might loose your history. But I've seen many DPs stating this is possible. I think the only PC rule with Chase is you can only PC within the same family of cards, in this instance personal UR cards.

Don't know its called PC or relocation of CL, but I tried to relocate entire CL from my Sepphire to ny Freedom card, and close out Sepphire card, Representative said that they can do it...no problem but I would lose $1k limit as this much has to be left on Sepphire when closing out.

Now, PC might be different wherein you could be able to relocate whole CL to the card that you are looking for. On many other sites its suggested that you could ask for PC to Freedom original...I think so...

Plus, the 5% on grocery is also an amazing SUB, up to 12k spend in the first year. (thats $600 more) Add that to the the $200 for $500 spend.
