Amex plat airline credit upon renewal

Trying to decide if I want to renew my amex plat card (assuming I get a retention offer) or just upgrade my gold card to plat and take that upgrade offer. One thing that occured to me. I used my amex airline credit for this year. If I renew the plat card now will that reset my airline credit or is it based on calendar year? If it will not reset my airline credit then maybe upgrading my gold card would be the better choice because I assume that would give me a full airline credit this year.

Yes, certainly calendar year. Although I am surprised they never ended up changing it like Chase did for the travel credit on CSR.

Yea. I'm really going to have to crunch the numbers on this and see 1. If the plat makes sense for another year and 2. if it does the best method to obtain/keep the plat and maxize everything
