Does citibank have some kinda rule similiar to 5/24 for cards that are not citibank? I am not asking about recently picked up citibank cards. I have not gotten a new citibank card in awhile, but I did pick up to two chase cards over the last six months bringing me to 5/24. I'm thinking about going for the AA card signup before it drops back down. Hopefully that card has no ftf so I can use it on an upcoming trip.

In terms of the IHG card from Chase how long after meeting the required spend before the SUB posts? I could probably rush to meet the spend now if it means I will get the SUB before I travel.

IHG was a few years ago for me but IIRC it posted pretty quickly.

I've heard reports of Citi rejecting otherwise strong profiles for even one very recent (as in, within a week or two) inquiry. Not sure how YMMV that is.

Citi is extremely inquiry/new account sensitive.
I hit their pre approval thing over the weekend, and was offered nothing.🤣
I've had lots of inqiries and new accounts within the past year.

Citi Legacy/retail are both new account sensitive although not sure what the threshold is. Opened up 3 cards in last 6 months I believe and denied both best buy visa(tried 3 moths ago)/AA(tried during weekend) (wanted those miles as well) with 820 score cited most recently on AA Card, 4 EQ HP's at time in last 2 years and two of those are mortgage related. Reasons for denial were all related to too many new accounts.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Citibank AA card and got instant approval with 19k credit line, so thankfully my recent apps didn't cause an issue because it would have sucked to miss out on this signup offer. Other than likely upgrading my amex gold to a plat I think I'm gonna spend some time in the garden most of my bonus clocks are on cooldown so there isn't anything I really need or want.
