Wells Fargo takes over Choice Privileges card

Well, we now know who will be taking over the Choice Privileges Visa...it's Wells Fargo. I totally didn't see that one coming! The card will get converted to a Mastercard starting in May.

There are some pros and cons comparing the old and the new. The biggest pro in my book is how they fixed the ridiculous elite-status issue of the old card. With Choice Privileges, it takes 10 nights to earn Gold status, 20 nights Platinum, and 40 nights Diamond. The old card gave "automatic gold status" to cardholders. However, users still had to stay 20 nights to move beyond Gold to Platinum. Essentially, the only benefit of Gold status on the Barclay's card was the higher Choice points multiplier on the first 10 nights. The new card offers 10 "elite night credits". This means you start at Gold status, but after 10 nights you will move to Platinum.

I honestly think WF will be a better partner than barclays. Atleast with WF, you have a chance for a SP CLI again

Bingo...I am so looking forward to saying goodbye to Barclays and saying hello to Wells Fargo...Whom I bank with and have credit products with. I almost got rid of my Barclays card, after they reduced my credit limit from $5k to $2,350, after doing at BT of $2,300. They basically screwed my credit scores with this move for 6 months as I paid off this BT. At the time I had applied for other cards and they were notorious for checking ones credit after you have the card for a month or two.

Looking foward to a larger credit limit now that Barclays is out the picture

Mine arrived yesterday. It's very...orange. Activation starting 5/1.

I also just got my card. It has way better benefits than my Barclays ever did and the fact I away from Barclays, I will keep the card. If anything, I believe Wells Fargo's will allow SP for CLI, well I am hoping since thats what they do now with my current Wells CC's.

So glad that my account showed up on my Wells Fargo side, I dont even need to create an account or anything. Now I am wondering if I should ask for a CLI? Has anyone pulled the trigger? I want to make sure its still a SP?

Hard pull. I cancelled my request.

Maybe in 1-3 months after they had time to soft pull cardholders.

Does anyone know when Wells Fargo will start posting the card history to the big 3? I am still showing Braclays on my report and wondering how that will work now?
