World Elite from Platinum on a Cap1 PC

I had another post in approvals a week ago when I did a PC on my VentureOne to QS. Since the card started as a platinum QS1 and stayed as a platinum with the upgrade to VentureOne (I've only seen V1's with world elite if they started as V1), I was expecting no change. To my surprise when I received the new card it's a world elite like a new QS approval would be. Is this becoming more common or did i just get lucky and it's still a rare occurence? Usually it seems like once a platinum type (wheter it be plain jane platinum, QS, or V1) always a platinum unless you're able to get the rare SavorOne PC with those only being issued as world elite. Nonetheless it doesn't matter too much but happy to see anyways!

Take it and run. Thers no explanation with Cap1 and all the changes they do. Yes one year then no. Upgrade no upgrade, PC maybe. Its a who knows whats up now with them. Before you could only get a WEMC for a min $5000 SL on approvals. Thats gone. No telling.

A significant number of people (everyone?) got their Capital One Mastercards upgraded to World Elite last May, Capital One just didn't send out new cards, and allegedly in some cases people with World Elite cards may have gotten physical cards with lesser branding.

EDIT: I'd guess if you looked at your last few statements it'd say that it was a world elite mastercard at the top

My last statement still showed platinum. It stayed plat when it went from QS1 to V1 and only just now went to wemc when the new card and booklet came in. I do remember when people got upgraded (I think many from world?), but at that time I still had a QS1 and those are plat.

This. The WEMC upgrade happened last year and mine got that "upgrade" (not that it changed much in terms of benefits).
