AMEX 4056C Income Verification Question

I recently applied for an AMEX Delta Gold card. They asked for more information so when I called, they said they needed a 4056C for income verification (198k). I uploaded that document for them on Friday. How long does it take for them to receive, review, and approve/deny?

The amount of time you will wait for a decision is largely due to however long it will take for the IRS to process the request and provide AMEX the requested/authorized tax returns. That being said, the best case that I've seen mentioned from when an applicant submitted the authorization to when AMEX announces their decision to be about 2 weeks but it's definitely a YMMV senario.

Not a problem, happy to help. This isn't something that comes up here on a daily basis but it does come up now and then.

When I went through the old process when a 4506-T (predecessor form to the 4506-C) authorization was entirely automated online through one's AMEX account it took about 3 weeks.

You have to keep on top of them. calling every few days. The 4506-Cs are easily rejected. The problem is that if your form is rejected, they take forever to inform you via snail mail. After 60 days, they will pull your credit again so you have to act quickly. The off-shore reps have absolutely no power, and will often give you the wrong reasons the form was rejected. They will tell you that XYZ was completed incorrectly or ABCD was illegible (this on a for, completed ONLINE (no handwriting)).

In my case, it was only due to an intervention by the Amex Exec Offices that they got at the real reason my form was getting kicked back....it required a wet signature. When I submitted the form with a wet signature, my card was in the mail within a few days. And Amex has been VERY good to me ever since.
