Apple Card offer for grocery spend.

I received a great offer from apple. 10% CB on up to $500 on groceries through 5/31. I think this must be targeted but hopefully others will also get the email. I almost never use this card. I will use it for this for sure

While the max return is the same, the 10% back on less spend is definitely better. I would be more inclined to use this if given the same offer.

Also, maybe a mod could merge these 2 threads as we posted at basically same time?

I didn't get either of those offers. And I just used my Apple Card twice today for groceries…

Perhaps this is targeted to those who don't already use their Apple Card for groceries?

According to the rumor mill, make sure you are actually opted-in to receive emails from Apple in order to receive these offers in the future.

5%/1000 or 10%/500 is the same 50 dollar offer. Not supper different.

I'm not so sure about that Beef-Man! A 10% rate of return is way better (twice as better ) than a 5% return. Let's say one used only the Apple card and spent $1000 on groceries. The 5% offer would result in 5% x $1,000 = $50 cash back. The 10% offer would result in 10% x $500 + 2% x $500 = $60 cash back, or 20% greater return than the 5% offer.

Or, if you looked at a 2-card combo, say the citi CC with 5% groceries, combined with the 10% Apple offer, 10% x $500 + 5% x $500 = $75, or 50% greater return than the 5% Apple offer.

Not to mention, it is a lot easier to spend $500 than $1000 in one category. I, for one, could probably reach the $500 max spend in 5 weeks but I wouldn't be able to reach the $1,000 max spend. Thus, $50 CB with the 10% offer vs $25 CB with the 5% offer with $500 spend, or a 100% greater return!

@ptatohed I didn't say it wasn't slightly better I said it wasn't hugely different. I guess I just haven't hit peak caring on 5-10 extra dollars cb on a 1000 bucks.

It's definitely worth more than $5. Can you even spend $1000 on groc in 5 weeks? I couldn't. And we have a fam of 5. With 2 hungry pre-teen boys! So, at $500 spend, you'd get $25 (or 100%) more than the 5% offer with the 10% offer. In my (stubborn, lol) opinion, these are not close offers!

Yes. Just two of us spend about $1,400 a month. Depends what you buy and where you live I guess....

I've always considered my Apple Card to be a superfluous part of my lineup (and don't remember why I originally went for it), and have just been putting some occasional charges on it every couple months for activity. With the integration of the new savings account feature (and the competitive APY), I've paying a bit more attention to the card and some of the features. So while looking through the app, I just saw this along with an email:

5% on Groceries up to $1000 in spend, and 6% on Nike up to $500 through 5/31/23.

While I've tended to favor my Fidelity, Penfed PCR, or Navy Flagship for random uncategorized spend (AOD is dedicated to monthly uncategorized bills), I've been leaning to the Apple card lately. I hope these promos keep coming!
