Does Citi still allow two Citi Custom Cashes for one user?

I remember a while back that some people were able to get approved for a Citi Custom Cash and also product change one of their other cards in order to have two citi custom cashes. I am asking for my mother since she has two citi cards she doesn't really use whereas the Custom Cash would be useful.

Yes. I have (2) Citi Custom Cash cards.

I applied for a Custom Cash and pc'd a Citi Double Cash card to another Custom Cash as well. It definitely can be done.

@M_Smart007 @Lou-natic Yeah I know they were allowing it last year and earlier this year but now on the webpage it states "Citi will only issue one Citi Custom CashSM Card account per person.". I believe this was changed fairly recently after the big push of everyone in the community getting as many as they could (rightfully so). So I wanted to see if this rule doesn't apply to product changes or if anyone has run into this recently after being implemented.

Well I did mine this year so up until like a month and a half ago you could still do it I know for sure.

The language was the same as far as only issuing one card and they still let me PC into another one.

Per this citi page, Citi Custom Cash Card. "Our policy is to offer only one Citi Custom Cash℠ Card account per customer."

This is slightly different language than what you reference.

I was looking at this page. It has finer print but it has the different language "Citi will only issue one Citi Custom CashSM Card account per person.".

So why would there be different wording? And which wording seems more open to multiple custom cashes? I think your seeing a bit more open to interpretation.

@Hoben02, I use one for gas and one for dinning/food.

If I am going to be spending more than the cap on Gas,

I also use the AAA Travel Advantage Visa for 5% Gas.

Along with a couple of rotating cat. cards.

I kind of wonder if Citi will ever crack down on this during an internal review or something...I suppose they probably would have by now if they actually cared

It's the other way around actually. Back when the card was introduced many people had a hard time PCing into it. Citi has made it easier over time, not more difficult. Specifically PCing from a Double Cash to a Custom Cash involed PCing to something else first then PCing that over to a Custom Cash. Now that restriction is lifted altogether. I PC'd my old DC straight to a CC with no work arounds required just about a month and a half ago no problem at all.

I had a DC that I converted to a Custom Cash (for groceries when not a rotating category), then applied for a new custom cash (for restaurants when not a rotating category).

For those that PC'd thier DC for a second Custom Cash, did the credit card number change? Curious if I need to replace all the places that have my saved CC info first before the PC to avoid issues or if I can take my time with it...

No, it's the same account. What will change is the expiration date and 3 digit security code.

Yep IIRC,

Landing onto the Custom Cash required a certain sequence of PC steps when Citi introduced this card in June 2021.

It was like A to B to C instead of A to C.

Like any rewards card, while it might be heavily used/abused by those who go to credit card forums, probably most people in the wider world only get a fraction of the possible rewards each month ). And anyway, the max on this card is not enough to cause concern. Amex got hard on the BCP and OBC when they were uncapped, because even abuse by a few could be very costly indeed (and I did my part in the latter!)
