Chase Credit Descriptions (fair/good/excellent)

on this week's episode of looking at my Chase offers in Chase Journey, I see I've been upgraded to an ad (no green star pre-approval) for the Chase Slate Edge despite being over 5/24

the more interesting aspect, is the descriptors that Chase has for the various credit levels, very similar to Capital One.

have they always had these posted or is this new?

I just checked and it appears slate is the only one that shows anything like that for me.

I'm not seeing that on my end, however, I show 5 cards (Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, United Explorer, Southwest Plus and Slate Edge) and they all have the green star pre-approval. Maybe that's the difference.

Are you looking at the stand alone Credit Journey?

If I try to sign in on Credit Journey proper it always sends me to my Chase account.

I also looked at my Just For You and nothing different there either...

yeah, the page from the screenshot is a shorted application flow from the ad placed in the offers tab within Credit Journey, I don't get the ad when I go to open an account from my business checking

they don't show that text in the normal application flow when you're not signed in, a tad interesting imo

I saw this about 2 weeks ago when I looking at the Freedom Flex preapproval I had. It is great if know that Chase thinks I have excellent credit. I wish they would look the other way with 5/24 inquiries and 12/24 new accounts. I did it click the submit button, because I know better!

I totally understand where you are coming from. Chase didn't let me back into Planet Chase until my chapter 7 bankruptcy fell off my CR's. I'm really glad that they "forgot" I burned them for $40k.

It's always: "check out these offers" "start your kids with a debit card" "we have special auto financing"

but never: heres a 3k CLI

If Chase let me back in after a $40,000 loss, they will eventually let you back in. Just remember, they didn't back me back until my chapter 7 bankruptcy fell from my CRs.

So now we have some "official" statement that having a checking/savings account with Chase MAY help if your credit is only fair/average.....
