Cards with large sign up bonuses

Hi forum,

It looks like I'll be closing on a house on Friday. I am very excited as its my first house, with this being said I know there will be large expenses including furniture costs. I am looking for cards with large sign up bonuses that I can charge these costs to in order to help keep the cost down. Any recommendations? Doesnt have to be a forever card / my current cards are listed in signature.

Ahhh! I was going to say the upgrade Cash Rewards Elite Visa for an easy $400 but......... looks like it's back to $200 now. Boo.

The signup bonuses for the Citi Premier and Chase Sapphire Preferred are pretty nice.

Whether to focus on the SUB or a great 0% offer on new purchases depends on how you plan to pay, @onepeace25. If you have the money to pay immediately but just want to line your pocket, go for the best SUB you can find, whether that is cash back or travel points in preference.

However, if you will have to pay-over-time, it's almost always best to consider the value of the SUB versus the cost of financing. With most credit card interest rates, it won't take long for the "great value" of that SUB to be completely absorbed (and then some) by interest charges. So I would choose a good 0% offer over a SUB in that scenario.

Hi @Aim_High, great point. I do have the money to spend and pay right back, I simply want some nice cash back for using money im going to spend anyways. Ill likely spend at least 3-4k initially. So any card to help maximize would help, I'm looking for prefarably cash back SUB. I would consider a points or miles SUB card if its a good pick. Currently looking at the AMEX Hilton Aspire, but actual cash back would be nice

The Citi Premier is a good card, and you can link it up with your DC and Rewards+ cards. And you'll have the option of cash or going for travel. And the SUB of 60k TY points is pretty sweet.

My AMEX BCP came with a $300 SUB. Spend $3k in 6 months, and fee waived for first year. The downside is that it's redeemed as a statement credit.

The BCP is also 0% for the first year for purchases and balance transfer. I got it in May for my new furniture after closing and my SL was $34900.

I got mine in May too. I'm waiting for 61 days CLI.
