Navy Federal 2023 Targeted Balance Transfers

I was getting nervous that there wasn't going to be a round this year, but I did receive a snail mail notification for a targeted balance transfer offer. It's not 0% with no transfer fee this time, but it's very hard to complain about 2.99% for 18 months with no transfer fee! (Sorry for the ripped page; the glue holding it together was a little strong.) The BT period is January 4th through March 31st, so this was either seriously delayed by the postal service or Navy sent these out late.

Your accountability buddy has arrived! You could save with a 2.99% APR for 18 months when you transfer your higher-interest balances from other lenders. After that. your standard variable APR applies.

A balance transfer will allow you to combine credit card balances into one easy payment. Just transfer balances fom other lenders to your existing Navy Federal Credit Card ending in [redacted].

This offer is non-transferable and valid for the intended recipient only. This means that only members who receive this offer directly from Navy Federal are eligible to accept the offer. Offer valid for balances transferred from non-Navy Federal credit cards between 1/4/2023 and 3/31/2023. If you transfer a balance to an existing Navy Federal Credit Card, you will receive a 2.99% APR on the balance transferred
for 18 months. After that, your standard variable APR will apply to any balance remaining. Balance transfers are not eligible to earn rewards. Maximum total transfer amount is limited to your available credit line. Balance transfers using convenience checks are excluded from this offer. If you transfer a balance with this offer, your standard variable APR will be charged on purchases made with your credit card unless your purchases have a 0% APR or you pay the entire balance (including any transferred balances) in full each month by the payment due date. The account must be open and not in default at the time of your balance transfer request. BECU gave me the 12 months at 0% with no fee, too. I just wish this Navy offer had arrived a little earlier. The remainder of last year's BECU balance just ended up at BOA with a fee, and with the balance still reporting on both cards. 😞 (Only temporary thankfully.)

This is still going to be useful, though. Taxes aren't final yet, but they're looking like a painful hit for 2022.

Thanks for the heads-up! So far no letter for me.

I did notice in the fine-print they mention all the NFCU cards except for the Go Rewards... I wonder if more could be read into that? 🤔 Maybe there's a refresh on the horizon...

I have a Go Rewards and a Platinum, so at least there's still a chance in a few days I'll get a love letter for the plat. I have a "standing" offer on my BoA cards for 16-17 months at 0% with a 3% fee, but this works out to be a little better and I'd like to show NFCU some love since it's been a while.

(Just like the mail offer, there's also no mention of the Go Rewards card on his email offer.)

I was hoping that perhaps my letter just got lost in the mail but I reliably get NFCU emails so I guess they just aren't that into me this go around.

For science called NFCU up and no promotions for BT on Platinum or More rewards cards.. NFCU has been very frustrating with regards to BT offers last few years at least for me.. First year with them I think I have 0/0 on platinum and next year a 0 transfer and 2.99 and nothing for last 2-3 years. . congrats on those that got them

The 2.99% offer I got is for my Platinum card. The mailer specifically lists the Platinum, cashRewards, More Rewards, and the Flagship, but the email I received only excludes the Business cards, Home Equity Line Platinum, and nRewards Secured cards.

The Home Equity Line Platinum is a different card than the normal Platinum.

No Navy BT love for me, but I *did* get both online AND mail offers for a 0%/12 months or 2.99%/18 months BT from Penfed. They even mailed me BT checks!

Suppose I should of seen if mine that came where 0% bt fees before tearing them up a week or two ago. Oh well.. Interesting information as never known PenFed to offer 0% BT fees before.

ok makes more sense as 3% is typical for PenFed. Get checks mailed to me about 4 times a year for each of my cards it seems. I believe you can call and request as well if want checks to be sent.

No soup for me from Navy. Penfed is constantly offering transfers with checks to me. Actually us bank has been making some offers too which is kinda nice. Seems like many of the lenders are making some good offers. Cap1 not so much. No transfer fee but no time associated with it. Just 19% on a balance transfer. Let me jump on that one. Seen too, where quite a few folks are offering 0 int for 12 months and no transfer fees with some credit unions. Some great offers out there.

Mine looks a little bit different than yours @K-in-Boston.
It's an offer for the Cash rewards card. I don't have any NFCU ones yet.

I think I rcvd my mailer at the end of January so who knows about the tardiness.

Good to see Navy Federal is still sending out BT offers. I don't remember seeing one on either of my cards but I don't have much debt reporting so maybe they don't see me as needing it.

@K-in-Boston Are current Navy Federal balance transfer offers on existing cards targeted (i.e. they'd notify me if I had one), or do people have luck reaching out to customer service to see if there is one on your account they haven't notiied you about? Thanks.
