Mercury Mastercard upgrade

Woke up to an e-mail this morning from Mercury giving me a trifecta.

1) Upgrading my card from a 1% to a 2% cash back

2) lowering my APR.

3) and a $600 CLI. It's now $4850.

This card started out almost three years ago at $750 as a credit building card. Now it's like turning into a forever card. Can't say enough good things about Mercury. It's not a flashy card. But it's a reliable,and dependable card. But don't expect it to happen over night.

Congratulations!! Must be the season for Mercury because I received an email today with the same changes except they gave me a $1,500 CLI. Hardly ever us this card but keep it just for the heck of it. I like surprise increases.

Congrats on the upgrade. I've heard mostly good things about the Mercury card,s especially for those who are well into their rebuild.

I had absolutely no complaints wirh my Mercury card. No AF. Good service. I really appreciate the chance they gave me with this card. I'll admit I was almost apologetic when I closed it. I made sure the rep knew I was not unhappy at all.

Same here, I almost felt bad closing it after they gave me an automatic CLI, lower APR, etc., but it was time for the culling of the rebuilder cards.

Mercury stands out among the rest of rebuilding cards... after 15 months was up to 4,000 .. no AF is great ..no gouging on fees .... I think it is still an invite only card

@7774x CK will show Mercury offers periodically. I think some were targeted offers because the 2% Mercury offers on CK lined up fairly closely with when I was getting the targeted mail offers. Around the time those ended I started seeing the 1% card again (all no AF).

I wish Mercury would throw me a bone, the card is basically unusable. only good for padding

I received an offers to apply for the card the end of last year. They gave me a SL of $5000. I've been wondering if that is it or if it will grow. I put it a few thousand on it the first month (booked a trip) then just use it once in awhile after that.

What has your use for the card been like for the past year or so? I'm trying to get a CLI. I've used a good portion of my available (and let it post) with no dice. I've carried a balance for a couple of months and no dice. I've got better cards, so I'm losing out on cashback even using it at all.

I wish I had the same luck! I've had my Mercury MC for over two years, starting September 2021, with a $2500 limit and a 27.99% interest rate. Over time, I've managed to secure some increases, and now my limit is $3730.00 with a 33.24% rate. While contemplating closing it, given that I've acquired better cards since I first opened the Mercury MC, it has served its purpose. However, since there's no annual fee, I'm not in a hurry to close it. Nevertheless, lack of use might lead to its closure by default.
