I had a denial for the card some time ago. The application was pretty normal where I filed the paperwork online and they said wait for a few days. They did not ask for paperwork but denied based on not being able to verify which was weird. They pulled TransUnion I believe or perhaps Equifax. You only get 3% cash back on the category that you spend on the most. The categories available are listed somewhere so it really is not a guessing game.

Hi All,

I hope this post finds you well. Can anyone share with me their experience with the Venmo credit card?

How was the application process?

Which bureau did they pull?

Did they request documents during the application process?, etc.

Is the cash back redemption process simple?

Is there any category that will not get the 3% cash back?

I'm considering adding this card because of the 3% cash back, but want to make sure there aren't a lot of restrictions and unnecessary hurdles to deal with.

Thank you in advance!

Very easy application process. I was instantly approved for a $20K credit line on-line. Easy to use---shows up right in the Venmo app along with any other cards as well as your transactions and Venmo Balance. My 3% category is always dining or travel so not sure if tehre are some that won't make 3%---I belive it has to be a catgory that Venmo classifies as eligible otherwsie I think the charge defaults to "other" so earns 1%.
