So you forgot to make your payment , they lowered your credit limit . You then called cursed them out and closed your account because they did "you" dirty but then turn around and apply for another card from this creditor who did you dirty ??? You might be very disappointed with a 300,00 credit limit instead of keeping your card and slowly increasing again ?

Well it may seem a little extreme over being a couple days late , but creditors do this unfortunately. But closing a card that you have had for a few years and I believe you recently got on upgrade to, to turn around and open another seems just as extreme as they were and really makes no sense credit wise at all .

@Bandit5160, you got your knickers in a twist over a CLD and you acting like it is the end of the world. Honestly, it isn't an issue which should cause such consternation; deal with it, move on.

This is a good example on not taking a proper decision while being angry. It is better to postpone such decisions to a day or two.

You closed an account (only because of CLD) while you applied again for the same card. I do not know why you really need the store Target card, if they hate you. If they do not like to do business with you, they can do it again or they can provide a very low SL. You simply acted like a teenager but not an adult...

If you search around in this forum, you can find several good notes on the cards that can be helpful for you. In general, there is no need to go for store cards while by using a few cards, you can get ~3-5% on either in-store or online shopping at any store.

I am very sorry for being such a jerk earlier about a CL decrease. I was drinking and it lead to bad things. That is just not me. I made some dumb choices and now I must live with them. But hopefully I learned something. This goes beyond a credit card. This is my life. I need counciling for both my drinking and my temper and I resolve on this New Year's Day to get myself some help. If I don't change everyone will end up hating me and that's no place to be.

The hardest step is realizing there is coming to terms with the problem.

I don't drink (never have), but I do know all about the path to recovery as I have worked in a part-time addiction counseling role.

Wow, you are a big man @Bandit5160 . Very nice post. I will admit that I am on drink # 'X' right now on NYD (but I don't have work tomorrow). I do drink (some times too much) but I drink responsibly (never drive, rarely ever on a work night). Thank you for your post and good luck to you.
