I've heard Barclay's is virtually a no go if you burned them. That's been posted many times. While on the subject, I wonder about USB. That's one you rarely hear of people burning them and getting back in.

I burned Discover for roughly $3k, got sued by them 3+ yrs later just before the statute of limitations. I supposedly made one payment that reset the clock and they sued right before the period ended. 2yrs later (super slow case) that led me to a BK7. FWIW I still have no record from my bank of that payment that I can find, but it's not relevant and doesn't change the fact I made poor financial decisions. Nonetheless, I got back in with Discover about 9yrs afer DOFD and 4yrs post filing. It started as a $400 secured card that unsecured after 7 mo and is currently at $2300 CL. I don't use the card much anymore (<$100/mo spend nowadays), but appreciate that it kicked of my rebuild Nov 2021.

Burned AMEX on three cards in 2017. Paid a settlement that hurt badly at tax time. Back in with three cards (personal) and two business cards by 2023. I have a friend who can't get a soft pull when using the prequal tool and I firmly believe it's because he never paid them (and this was 15-20 years ago).

I don't even plan to try with Chase.
