My profile info is:

AAofA: 35 years

scores: 740-780 All 3

util: 29% total - $200k lines (limits range $7500 - $30k)

income: $200k

inquiries: About 3-6 past 12 mos each

No derogatory ever

good mix of all credit

I have CapOne, Chase and Amex - tried USBank (pending) and WF (denied for Inqs!! Absurd !).

what can you all recommend for high limits cards and possible virtual card options ? Any big CUs? Any other new banks people are loving for high limits (like the good old Duck days !).

any advice is much appreciated !

thanks !

@Carloooo Welcome to myfico Forums. I'll just throw a few in that may be helpful...Navy Federal and USAA are great ones to start with and you get a good chance of a decent SL and a few sign on bonuses with them as well; they are my top picks for getting a good shot at a decent starting limit. You can also try PenFed pre qualify, FNBO pre qualify and Regions pre qualify; all of which have the ability to show you what your limit would be before you accept the offer or take a hard pull. Truist is one that will tell you if you are pre approved by running the pre qualification and if you choose one of those cards it usually isn't a hard pull... but SL with them may start on the lower side so just FYI on that one.

I bet others can be much more helpful but there are a few options for you. I hope you can find what your looking for and get the SL you want. Good luck.

"high limit" by itself is a somewhat subjective term - what is the mininum starting limit that you want on the card? The higher you go the list of potential issuers shrinks. (Penfed no longer issues cards with > $25K starting limits BTW)

What is your approximate current DTI ratio? That's one of the relevant factors and CUs in particular tend to get scared off if your DTI is much more than 30-35%.

If you just want a basic list of issuers who emperically are willing to issue a highly qualified applicant that doesn't already have a 6 figure deposit account with them with lets say a $30K starting limit a quick subset would be Chase, PNC, BECU, Andrews FCU, UNFCU, and First Tech FCU.

I can give a penfed dp. I applied for penfed pathfinder this week. I logged into my penfed account, where they told me my eq fico9 was 850. I applied, was declined. I see in the online data that it was for a $15000 cl. Haven't gotten the explaination letter yet, but I know I was 0/12 eq inquiries, AoYA 2 months. So, it had to be the recent account and the min for that account is $15000.

I would start with checking all the cards that have pre-quals that are soft pulls. You should be shown your CL before you accept. If you don't like the CL, you can move on. If you like it and accept, you'll get a hard pull. I don't know if this is the best list but I found this list fast: https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/credit-cards/credit-cards-that-offer-preapproval-without-a-hard-pull Good luck.
