Quick question about doing a PC from Amex Hilton Aspire down to Hilton Express Surpass. When you call and change, does your credit card number change or stay the same?

I believe with AMEX you'd retain the same account # after downgrading

yea i doubt amex has different numbers for card levels like visa has at times.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. I'm stepping my Hilton Aspire down a notch to save on AF. But I just wanted a heads up on if I was going to have to go down the line for autopays associated with it.

Just as a datapoint, I was going to do the same thing last week. Rep was very good and as gling through the process one of their steps is to check for retention deals. I got a$350 statement credit (bringing the AF down to $200 for the next year) if I spend 3K in 3 Months. Thast easy for me to do so decided to keep it another year.

Thanks for the heads up on the Retention offer @shelbytruck . I'll keep it in mind, coupled with the Annual night I think I would take that offer. If not I have have no issues downgrading.

Another question about downgrading. If you downgrade before your AF hits, you just get the new AF at the time your original AF hits?

Also, if you get hit with the original AF, and you tell them you want to downgrade do they credit you the difference?
