Possible Amex premium auto rental insurance coverage changes.

Received a survey about asking about feedback for possible changes for Amex premium rental car coverage changes.

Currently its per rental basis that charges around 17-22 based on state. They are looking about a yearly subscription for any number of rentals for around $50.

would likely attract a lot of people if coverage remains the same as if opt for rental car coverage that Amex currently offers per rental so the one time fee would do very well imho if all coverages remained the same being primary coverage etc and even better if they let you use a different card while renting a car possibly. although doubt that would be an option.

id like to know how reliable the insurance is, and is my personal insurance ever get called if i scratch a rental? im in a rental rn, someone hit me, other drivers insurance is paying the bill so im not worried about it now.

besides that, i cannot stand rental cars. not once have i gotten a GOOD set of tires on it, which is extremely important to me, and enterprise couldnt care less.

I've never read anything negative about it, and in fact if I didn't have primary coverage through my US Bank AR I would have used Amex Premium Coverage on my last rental a few months back.

On your question about your insurance being notified, that should be 'no' since the whole idea of having primary coverage via a credit card or the rental company's CDW is so that your own insurance doesn't need to get involved. (Note this is for 'primary' coverage... secondary coverage via a credit card (usually offered by no-AF cards) is just that, and your own insurance does get involved in those cases).
