I don't have chase, but I have heard they have a long memory. Still, if you paid in full, they might not hold it against you.

As far as having a banking relationship, you might get more from that In person.

Having the two open accounts in good standing should help.

Have you tried asking for a limit increase on either card? I've found amex to be good at granting increases, if they've turned you down, see what their reasons were.

Chase's version of a large deposit relationship is $10 million for a JP Morgan Private Bank relationship which gives access to a JP Morgan Reserve credit card. From my experience, even a Chase Private Client relationship isn't enough to move the needle for credit card approvals. Checking and Savings accounts could help in that you now have a good reason to go into a branch to ask if you have any offers available for credit cards. Sometimes, there will be branch-only offers that are not available online.

I don't believe the computer is going to recognize or factor your deposits at all. Your history and scores are what will be considered the most. You might have the best shot by applying in branch.

I personally have not noticed Chase really caring whether you have deposit accounts or not... unless you're in their 'private client' neighborhood.

2. The system will care about everything in your application, everything in your credit reports, and your internal credit history with them, and nothing else.

3. Some folks have gotten better results by applying at a branch.

4. Chase might hold it against you.

5. The low limits on your current cards would not bother them if you were applying for the Freedom cards or the Amazon Prime card.

In view of your past history with Chase, my advice would be to see if you have any preapprovals. You can go to the "Just for You" section on the website menu, or you can go into a branch.

What's so special about chase, anyway? You might do better with a bank you have no bad history with. Since you're not sure which card you want, what features do you want in a card?

I have amex, no chase.

Where I live, oh10, we have more Huntington branches than chase. I keep them for in person cash transactions.

I just looked at the Chase offerings. Since I'm sub crazy, I noticed they have a disney premier card with a $400 for $1000/3 month spend sub. $49 af. I'd probably app it, but you can't take it as an account credit. Boo.

Local banking relationships no longer affect credit card approvals with big banks… The application is gonna be sent off and run through the algorithm which will decide what you get... I'm not sure why you want Chase so bad because they're one of the tougher ones when you don't have a lot of credit… I would go for Wells Fargo because they tend to give a decent limit… I would be shocked if Chase gives you anything after you they had to close one of your cards... I would do a bankruptcy 25 years ago in American Express still holds it against me… But they are the worst card to get anyway so I really don't care… Care credit from synchrony bank is a medical card that gives you zero interest for six months or 12 months in equal installments… it's easy to get your limit pushed up with them which helps your overall credit even though it can only be used it some doctors and purchases at the pharmacy register… You can buy milk and stuff but you have to pay for it in the pharmacy department… Stay away from capital one… They will pull all three credit bureaus and then give you $1000 limit card … stay away from any type of secured cards or any of these help build your credit type things… Go for real banks and real credit unions… If you have a credit union where you work that's where you should put the $10,000 and then see if you can get a credit card… You're much more likely to get to talk to the person who will approve your card… If you or any of your family were in the military… The military cards are pretty easy to get… USAA… SSFCU...Navy Federal… stay away from department store cards those are only for people that have absolutely nothing… I don't know what credit cards you have but if they don't do a hard inquiry for a limit increase then ask for one… This is all a game and you have to jump through the hoops and know the rules… A little bit of patience will go a very long way… Don't let your cards all have a zero balance because then it looks like your dormant… You wanna have at least a small balance when they report… Not a leftover balance it's gonna have interest but a new charge right before the statement date that's not overdue if you wait to pay… I hope this helps… Don't be in a rush and don't listen to those idiots on YouTube they claim they got 200 credit cards in 15 minutes with a 500 FICO

Having money in the bank with a credit card company can only help, though they won’t usually admit it. And as long as your old accounts are in good standing, they’ll only help your chances. Your credit score and income should be higher now, and that’s what’s going to help you get a higher limit this time. I’d recommend checking to see if you’re prequalified first, especially if you don’t have good credit yet. Out of the cards you mentioned, I think Freedom Unlimited is the best.
