C1 SavorOne Rebranding

As of today, Capital One has rebranded the SavorOne (3x dining grocieries entertainment, launched post 2020) card to be called just the Savor. The Savor was the name used on the $95 annual fee card (4x dining and entertainment, 3x groceries, I believe originally launched around 2016 with no AF as a rebranding of the Premier Diners Rewards card) that was discontinued this year in July.

Capital One typically adds the name "One" to their lowest tier cards in each line (QuicksilverOne is the no rewards version, VentureOne is the no annual fee version) so I wonder what this means for the Savor Line (there have been rumors of a higher tier SavorX, and maybe a new SavorOne will be made or the student card will carry on as the SavorOne).

The SUB has been temporarily increased from 20,000 points/$200 to 25,000 points/$250 for the card, no clue how long that will stick around for.

I got the email. Says we use our old card until it expires. So, 2029 for me.

Small correction to your post: Quicksilver One is a 1.5% rewards card, but it has a $39 annual fee.

I like the Savor name over SavorOne. I also think the redesign will probably be nice looking. I have the older style Quicksilver, but just added my son as an AU and he got the new card. It's much better looking in person. It's actually silver, not blue as the picture shows. I think I like the old style better, but the new one is also pretty nice.

~ 2018. Looks like Capital One is tweaking this offering for 2025.
(Rumors about a Savor X???)

I think that this is a great start to fixing the mess that is the Savor family of cards. I wanted to have the original Dining Rewards card originally but find that the US Bank Altitude Go is a much better alternative. My biggest concern is that once Capital One is done reshuffling things they will just bring out another broken product just like all of their other cards except the Walmart Rewards. The transition will be interesting to watch.

Could you explain what you mean by "broken products"? I think SavorOne is a really good card. Quicksilver is pretty good, better than a lot of other starter cards. Some say Venture X is the best travel card out there. I'd like to understand why you are making this claim.

I got this email too as a grandfathered no AF Savor cardholder. Only difference was the last billet point where it says I would get a redesigned card starting in spring of 2025 if my card expired. I'm thinking they might be keeping the metal cards for certain cardholders.

I would say this is going to get confusing, but Capital One is known for their 'FrankenCards' with various terms, rewards, etc. with the same name. There are a few folks around here with a Savor Visa card, and IIRC at least one member with a low interest, no-AF Venture card (not Venture One).

So I guess we're going to have three flavors of Savor going forward... an old-OG with 4% back on restaurants/entertainment with no AF, an OG with 4% back on restaurants/entertainment that does have an AF, and the currently offered version with 3% back on restaurants/entertainment with no AF.

As for the whispers of a possible 'Savor X', IMO it's just that, whispers and wishful thinking by the internet masses. Not that I would be mad about such an offering, but I personally don't see it happening (at least anytime soon). I can't see them doing anything to infringe on their Venture X, and a hypothetical Savor X likely would. Just my 2¢.

I also have the legacy Savor card with no annual fee. I think the legacy card will continue and not convert. I 100% agree with you on the prospects of a "Savor X" Card.

Yes as far as I can best recall, actually it originally started out as 9.9% V when it was first issued (i.e, on or around when interest rates were significantly lower, due to recession, etc. at the time I apped and was approved for it, iirc), and with current interest rates, it is was originally and is still presently 13.9%

I did have to call in though to have the AF removed -- I had temporarily closed the card some years ago and had wanted to re-open it, but as a condition of re-opening it, I had specifically requested to the Cap1 rep to please remove the AF. To my pleasant surprise, the Cap1 rep agreed to remove the AF, and then proceeded to re-open the card

Being in the unusual spot of having the a SavorOne and a $95AF Savor, I received the email for both cards on 10/22. The verbiage used is slightly different on them.

Savor One:

$95 AF Savor:

Neither of my cards expire soon (S1 in early 2027, Savor in late 2028). I actually like the existing look of my Savor card. I have the lightly refreshed version that was never displayed on the website but was introduced in 2023 for both Savor and Savor One. The text was moved from the center to below the chip on the left (Savor still as metal). If I've still got this card in 2028 I hope it stays metal. I also agree about all the "Savor X" rumors and whispers. That talk is especially rampant on reddit where people are acting as if it's a guaranteed done deal. I really don't want a Savor X unless it stayed very similar to the old Savor anyways (I like that Savor can transfer to VX and have done so, but want to retain that flexibility to cash out like a normal CB card).

Unfortunately I tried the pre approval for the Savor but was only given the option of the card with no welcome bonus. My credit is excellent, Capital One must think I'm a churner lol.
