oh well, after a couple of years trying to get, i was finally approved about 13 months ago . I would hate to loose it. I use it both for Apple Pay, and for hotels. I love not having to use a portal to get the hotel category.

If true will likely remain for existing card holders like many of their other cards that are no longer available but still exist. I don't see them killing off their most popular AF card though I got it a month ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put a cap on rewards. But then I have been expecting that for four or more years so...!

With the largish AF (although the effective one is small) I think it probably largely attracts those who make good use of it. Unlike say Amex Plat which also attracts people for the perceived status (something the AR lacks).

Well, it hasn't grandfathered rewards on some cards, i.e. when it changes it changes for everyone.

I really hope this isn't true. Also, one DP - I have the GO prior to them removing no FTFs so I assumed I would lose the benefit as well. But I received an updated terms letter in the mail that stated foreign transaction fees were still 0% for me. Not sure if this changes in the future but for now I'm grandfathered

That's good! In the case I was thinking about, Cash+ went from unlimited 5% cash back in the selected categories to $2000 a quarter, and over time smaller (but annoying!) nerfs kept coming, and they applied to everyone, existing and new cardholders. But this was 2012 or so, and if they are letting you keep your no FTF, maybe they have improved (and/or it's a give-away they can live with, unlike the unlimited 5% cash back)

I recently posted in the long running GO thread about a CSR confirming there will be no FTF for my 4 year old account. So this helps. I'll look forward to a letter as well. Thanks.

That's the only thing that makes me worried. They'll nerf the rewards redemption structure. Maybe they'll keep 1,5 when redeemed thru their Travel portal and RTR cash back at 1%. I'll guess I'll have to do the math to see if it's worth it. Otherwise, I'll go back to my BofA Premium Card at 100%.

Dangit, I planned on getting this card in a couple years once I was active duty so I'd have no annual fee to pay, but now it looks like I'll have to app soon and pay the AF for at least a year if I want a shot at ever having the card

Since there was no response from US Bank yet (such businesses typically do not respond to all sorts of rumors), distrubuting such rumor might be a part of a biz or marketing plan to get quickly some users on this card . If you review the comments of this YouTube clip, you will find out that there are several users that got panicked, applied for the card and instantly got approved...

Presumably I must be wrong but I find it hard to believe that there are people with this card that don't get lots of value from it, i.e. it should be costing US Bank money, in which case they shouldn't want more customers. But maybe there are people paying the $400 AF and not doing travel and not using mobile pay...

This card looks sustainable and from my view, it should be unlikely that US Bank would demolish its flagship product. In the worst scenario, it still has positive AF. Never trust whatever YouTubers say, since several of them do not know what they are talking about

If they do the biz planning correctly, they might even expand their rewarding program. Pooling points with other cards can be a good direction (like Amex, Chase) and they may introduce more cards, pool points between dining cards and travel cards, etc..
