Pay Verizon bills with a CC via Paypal bill pay

I recently migrated to Verizon and I am trying to pay my first bill using the Paypal bill pay service. Somehow, PP does not accept credit card for this bill pay to Verizon and it only accepts debit card or bank account. Anyway, PP allows to use credit card for the other merchant like Xfinity.

Could somebody help to see whether there is any way to pay my Verizon bills using PP bill pay and with a credit card?

Nope, you wouldn't want to. You would lose your discount if you did. The only way to pay with a CC other than the Verizon one is by purchasing gift cards on their site and using those to pay the already generated bill (and not lose the discount). Same applies to debit.

Thanks. I guess, by implementing this limitation on PP bill pay, they are actually losing more money. I purchased one Verizon physical giftcard online from their website and it is getting shipped with UPS at their own cost

Yep, it doesn't make sense, Verizon. But always be on the look out for changes with Verizon. They are constantly changing the game.

Another option, if you can purchase Verizon GCs at a retailer ( Grocery, etc.. ) this would allow you to leverage a cashback card to pay your bill.

Have never heard of Verizon GC's being offered at any retailer. But if you could, I wouldn't recommend it, due to fraud and lack of recourse. By purchasing direct from Verizon, with free 2day shipping, you don't need to. The purchase qualifies as an online purchase with my BofA CCR, giving me a 5.25% cash reward.

Thanks @ElvisCaprice, for some reason getting gift cards from Verizon hadn't occured to me. I just bought one and hope it will work paying my FioS bill (otherwise I wasted some money as I don't use VZW)

Staples, Target and Bestbuy sell VZ giftcards (email delivery, $30 to $50). It might be a better option, if somebody does not trust to buy physical GCs at stores. It should trigger ~5% CB on multiple credit cards.

Also enroll in auto pay and paperless statements for a $10 discount per line. In addition as mentioned purchase gift cards through the Verizon site and receive the various amount of points, credits or cash value depending on the card.

Just a heads-up, a few years back when I had Verizon Prepaid I once bought a refill card off eBay from someone who was unable to use the card for postpaid service.

I've not had Verizon service in a few years (deprioritization for prepaid is brutal with Verizon) so this may have changed, but if someone is considering exploring the gift card route for post paid service it might be worth checking to see if the cards are interchangeable, and if not which version is being sold at Target, Staples, etc.

You can once the bill has been generated according to others on Verizon Reddit. Works the same as Verizon postpaid.

Those aren't Verizon gift cards, they are prepaid refill cards and can only be used on prepaid accounts, not postpaid. Can only buy Verizon gift cards online thru Verizon (free shipping) or in a corporate Verizon store.

Verizon has just cut their FioS autopay discount to $5 (from $10) and unlike wireless, most of us will have just one "line". So my bill without discount is $105, and with is $100. So a very slight win if I use a 5% credit card on the full undiscounted bill. Still, will try the giftcard route first!

I have Xfinity internet at much lower price (150 Mbps, $20/month including a $10 discount using autopay).

Depends if you need the speed and the symmetric nature as well. The $100 includes a "landline" phone, which we should probably get rid of, and approx 1Gbps up and 850Mbps down

Yeah, it's a rip-off.

They're really, really trying to discourage people from ordering (or keeping) landline service. In my area, they (AT$T) have regulatory permission to discontinue traditional landline service, but rather than kick everyone from the service they just make the rates unattractive (I would say noncompetitive, but there's no competition for landline service). The 'kicking off' will come eventually, though... they're actively trying to get all holdouts to change to a service called Home Phone Advanced that's really just cellular that allows people to continue using their old equipment (notably it's also cheaper than wireline, for what that's worth).

Renting phones is even more abominable... even back in the 90s I was amazed how many people still rented their phones. If I recall correctly the monthly price back then for a basic rotary phone was $4.95/month, billed quarterly (this was absurd even then) - more advanced phones such as cordless sets were significantly more.
