Close NFCU Flagship?

I currently have 15 cards; 11 personal and 4 business. I haven't been using the Flagship because I got into travel hacking and have travel cards.

Is there a benefit to keeping the card? I am paying the annual fee for the past 3 years with no actual spending. I have 2 savings account with them.

The limit can help with util if you hold a balance. And the free Amazon prime has been reported to be an annual thing, so that can be of benefit to offset the AF.

If you like the limit and positive reporting history, then product change to no AF card.

use it to pay your prime membership, you get it credited back to you every year

otherwise PC it to the Cash/More Rewards or the Platinum to have a low apr, 0% cash advance fee card

I wouldn't close it

that's weird, many dps of it still working for a bunch of people, are you doing the one time annual charge?

My flagship reimburses most of my amazon prime annual fee for the last 3 years or so that I remeber to switch the billing to the flagship. Still works as of a few months ago.

I'm crossing my fingers, hoping, and praying to Buddha that I receive ongoing amazon prime reimbursements. It's really the only/main reason I got the $49/yr card.

(Although the $300 + $400 + .02x$3500=$70 = $770) welcome bonuses were nice too. )

I've read some comments saying that people had success contacting Navy customer service and getting the credit applied.

I have had my Flagship visa for 8 years now. I got the Amazon prime credit my first year. Never really paid that much attention to it, but, this year I did. Loaded the Flagship as primary payment for Amazon, and just got the credit again.

I am in my 2nd year (March renewal) of the Amazon Prime membership credit ($139) for $49 AF.

The 2nd reason to keep the card is AUs get the same benefits of Amazon membership and Global Entry/TSA-Pre credits. This turns $49 AF into $259 each benefit credit or total of $1,295 if each person uses the credit in the 1st year.

If card user has childen under the age of 18, when applying for Global Entry, each child can get it for for free.

So if Amazon Prime membership doesn't continue, you are getting $600 ($120*5 users) credit for $245 (5 years of $49 AF). I am only aware of US Bank Altitude Connect given you $100 Global Entry/TSA-Pre credit for no AF but only for one user.

They paid my amazon annual free this year. Had the card for 9 years
