I would recommend you to get the pnc cash rewards, it used to have a $100 sub but now $250 for $1k spend, only up to $8k a year. Then look at the citi custom cash. Get cards that has a bonus cause the fort Knox card has no bonus plus I heard they shut down people's accounts as they're sensitive to soft inquiries or something like that.

Interested in thier 5% Gas Card, as I go through about $25k in gas a year. I have been rebuilding my credit since my divorce, and been able to get some decent cards as of recent, so will need to cool a little as have some recent pulls and new accounts. Any data points on Abound CU? Thier website fine print says $10 membership fee, is this monthly, annually, one time? Get a checking account with them first and let that ride for a few months? Any info would be great.

Abound FCU formerly Fort Knox FCU does get mentioned here occasionally; if you run searches on the site you'll find some data points. You might want to start your research by searching for "Abound" to get recent info, "Fort Knox" to get older data points. Running a search in the Approvals section of the forum should provide some useful info.

As I understand it they nowadays they prefer in-state applicants over non-residents, not sure if they hold out-of-staters to a higher standard for approval but I believe the limits they now usually get are low enough that in your case if approved you might find yourself having to at least occasionally cycle the card.

Just a note of caution.

Almost all personal cards from Banks, and Credit Unions have wording that spend should be for personal and normal purchases. They might look at $2,000 a month gas spend as "Business" or "Gaming Rewards", and close the card even if it does not have a cap in the wording. Depending on which place you look up stats, average spend per person is <= $200 a month. Would be better to have 4-5, 5% cards and shuffle.

Look into the AAA travel card it's also a 5% gas card. I think that's the one I will get when I am ready for my next card. It's only 5% on the first $7000. Abound doesn't list limitations to 5%. But might be an option especially if Abound has a cap for 5% cash back.
