Hello fico friends, I received a letter from Chase united Air Cc the annual fee will be increase from $95 to $150 sometime this year. Has anyone else who have the Chase United received a letter?

I got an email on Tuesday outlining the 'upgrade' (their term) in benefits of my Club card that included the blurb:

"With the addition of these benefits, the annual fee will increase from $525 to $695 with your next annual fee renewal occurring on or after August 1, 2025."

I read an article a few days ago that UA is drastically raising lounge membership prices, and is bumping the card AFs accordingly. I got the email about the new $150 rate a few days ago and they are adding some credits ($5/mo rideshare, $10/mo Instacart), but those won't benefit everyone.

I got the letter, but if I recall correctly, the increase will be next year.

If I understand correctly, the Explorer card's fee increase won't take place until 2026. The other United cards' fees go up sooner.

I closed my Explorer when credible rumors about a fee increase surfaced a couple weeks ago. My fee was due in April, and I realized that I actually hadn't even flown United for the last 2 years. It was nice having a Clear membership discount, but that discount grew smaller and smaller over the years. The lounge passes were nice too, but I gave away the last pair before they expired. Now, it sounds like you won't be able to give them to someone else unless you (or an authorized user) accompany them.

I'll have to consider it too. I've already closed one AF card in the past year and downgraded two others to non-AF versions.

If you want to keep the CL and history you can always downgrade to the the United Gateway card. Almost no real benefits to speak of, but at least you keep the CL as part of your total and it will continue to age.

Due to a likely job change (kind of a bizarre thing to say for someone my age) and considerably more time in an airport, I recently tried to upgrade my 10-month old United Explorer card to a United Club card. Chase told me I couldn't upgrade to the Club card until the Explorer card had aged to 1-year (and I assume the annual fee paid); after that my options would be to either upgrade the existing account to Club, or apply for the Club card outright. The agent I tallked with was unsure if I'd be allowed to have two United cards, so I'll worry about all of this in May.

I have the United Mileage Plus Cc and the Cc email states fees will change some time later this year. I might downgrade or cancel Cc. Besides, I rarely fly United Air.

You can. At one point I had both a Club card and the old United Mileage Plus card that pre-dated the Explorer and which Chase eventually retired the product line by PC'ing all remaining open cards to the UA Quest.

Awesome, thanks. Assuming the new job comes through, I'll apply for the Club card mid-May (right after my payment with the AF posts), then early May next year I'll roll most of the credit limit from the Explorer card to the Club card and close the Explorer.
