AmEx Hasn't Charged Me The AF Yet

My American Express BCP had the AF waived the first year, but I am now into my 13th month and they haven't charged me the second year AF yet. The card was opened on Feb 28, 2024. Anyone ever have this happened? I'm assuming it will pop up at some point, but it seems like it should have happened already.

in your online account, you can request your cardmember agreement, it downloads as a pdf, it should list when you'll be charged your AF

account services -- documents and notices -- request cardmember agreement

It may just be overlapping onto the next statement. If it doesn't show up at the next closing date, then delete this thread and never speak of it again to anyone. 😉

They typically bill my AF on the day the statement cuts.

Yeah I got the bcc during the end of October but I wasn't charged the AF until nov 21/24. It can be a little weird but they won't forget to charge you.

So, I just realized that my statement originally cut on the 30th or 31st of each month, but I moved my date to the middle of the month to align with all my other cards. I bet I am still in my 12th statement period in their eyes even though I am actually into my 14th month with the card. One of the statement periods was like 6 weeks instead of 4. I'll guess I'll just wait. I'm certainly not going to contact them.

Changing your due date/statement date can skew things a bit until you get a statement with the new date, so I bet you'll see your fee post on the next statement.

I did this with a credit card last summer, and shared in the forums. Because of it, I got a few weeks extra to pay my balace down (large balance, rolling month to month) to 0 before the due date and saved myself a few hundred bucks. I was thrilled and it hurt but the savings was worth it.
