US bank Cash+ no longer accepting new applications??

Edited to add: if I go to a different place on the bank site the card is availible. Contradictory the only difference on the surface is the picture of the card

@AndySoCal Not sure what you see there. The Cash+ seems to be on the "All Cards" page and still has it's own page as well.

@GZG @Anonymous Pleae use the link that is in my original post. Below the section of our current offerings is section with not accepting new applications with a Cash + card in there with old card picture on it

yeah that's really weird, dunno why they would put them in both sections

do they provide the same link when you click on both of them?

@Anonymous @I see what the change is they added 2 more 2% catagories and removed restraunts from the 2% Catagory. For me the catagory is now useless. I use public transportation to go places. For groceries I shop at Walmart

Now gas/charging or groceries has added these exclusions.

Grocery store and supermarket purchases at discount stores/super-centers (such as Target and Walmart and Wholesale clubs) will only earn 1% cash back.

Edit: I can actually see those exclusions being the case before as well since this is a Visa, and they added the wording for the exclusions for clarity.

Perhaps they've decided to make all new accounts Visa Signature cards regardless of the credit line, sort of like Chase does with the Amazon Visa? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

MCP also has had Walmart and Target removed from their 2% groceries category as of 4/14 (whereas before they were specifically included, and listed in sample merchants).

Mildly annoying because their 2% categories are pretty useless anyways, but ultimately 🤷‍♀️. Because PayPal Debit set to groceries covers both of those anyways at 5%.

I'm just spitballing, trying to figure out what would prompt the weirdness. Then again it's U.S. Bank we're discussing here, and I'm pretty sure somewhere in their corporate filings they have "weird" (and "nerf") in their legal name.

I went through archive.org backups of the benefits page.

Going all the way back to Nov 2021 they have always had the previous Cash+ card design in the "No Longer" section.

Horizontal-> Vertical
Black -> Blue
Blue -> Kiddy Lego White

And the url of both the "current" and the "not current" has always been the same.
