Spending Power Vs. Credit Limit on Amex BCP...

I understand that the Amex Gold/Platinum has Spending Power instead of Credit Limit (unless assigned).....

However, my Amex BCP has a credit limit though also has the option to check spending power.

***So my 4K limit isn't precise/preapproved? Like would I be able to make a 4K purchase on the card with this limit no problem (afraid to test out spending power based on rumors)? Is the spending power just to check if I can go over limit?

in the vast majority of cases, your $4k limit is precise and pre-approved and the spending power tool is to check to see if amex will let you make purchasses above that limit

however if you have charge cards and you run enough the total amount that amex is comfortable with lending you on it, you might get a 'please pay us' email to ensure future purchases aren't declined

Yes you can check with that feature to see if they May allow you to go over your $4000 CL.

If you are new to Amex, I would call them to give them a heads up that you are going to hit that limit in one swipe.
