Chase Freedom Flex no longer available for applications?

I looked on Chase's main credit card page, and the Flex is definitely missing.

We know the Southwest cards will change, the IAG trio will likely get updated, there are rumblings that Aeroplan will be making changes soon so that card might be changing, other than those I dont really see any other cards changing. Only other thing I think will happen is Chase fully locking down the Ritz so you cant PC to it anymore.

She said that is what they have been told, and it is possible that it reappears for new applications starting in August. The CFF should be available for product changes. No word on if the card is going to be replaced by a different Freedom card in the future. And while I had her on the phone, I asked about the CSP. She said “rest assured“ that the CSP is staying at a $95 annual fee.

For some of the older JP Morgan Chase Card Holders ... I remember back to 2006 when Chase seemed to focus on Visa Network (called the Chase Visa) and then later they brought out cards that ran on MasterCard Network (called the the Chase Freedom MasterCard). Do recall I was phased back to Visa Network and along came the Chase Freedom Flex and we were allowed back to the MasterCard Network option.

Some of my processing system changes with Chase Credit Cards were forced. I loved my Chase Freedom MasterCard (had categories) and when Chase switched me to a Chase Freedom Unlimited Visa with 1.5 points per dollar, I was not happy. Been a ride?

Not excitied and have trepidations about another forced switch which will not benefit me.

Time to leave the Chase Eco System? Love the UR Points however!!!

I was one of those earlier Freedom cardholders. Mine was the beloved Freedom Plus MC which gave 3% on your six top categories and 1% on everything else. That rate could be upped to 3.75% and 1.25% if you delayed redemption until you had accumulated $100 (or was it $200?) in rewards. I believe it had a $30 annual rewards program fee, but it was still very lucrative for its time. In 2010 Chase tried to force me to convert Plus to the Sapphire Preferred, but I requested a product change to the Freedom Visa with rotating 5% quarterly categories instead. Eventually, I PC'd that to the Flex after 3% bonus categories were added for dining and drugstores.

Interesting your path over time with Chase Credit Cards. You mentioned cards I do not remember.

Went to Reddit and one poster reported that Chase pulled the Chase Freedom Flex MasterCard for the entire month of July 2025. The Chase CSR was unclear what changes would be forth coming in August or if a no return on the Flex MC would be the final outcome?

As always, time will tell. Guess we have to keep the consuming public on edge so we can sell the latest and greatest (hmm ... that is a good one)?

I saw that Reddit post too. As you said, only time will tell.

Back to the earlier Freedom versions, there was the original no annual fee Freedom. I realize that many people on this forum consider the Freedom with the 5% rotating categories as the "OG", but there was an earlier version. It was the no annual fee counterpart for the Freedom Plus that I had. The no fee version had 3% back on your top 3 categories, but there was a spending cap as well. I seem to recall that it was $600 per month, but my memory is hazy on that topic.

Freedom Flex is an important part of the core of my rewards strategy.
Not only that, the only real reason I have a Sapphire Preferred is to get more value out of my points when I use them. At least 90% of those points are earned with the Freedom Flex.

Saw an interesting theory on reddit. Chase dropping MasterCard to go to Visa only. They only have 5 MasterCards now(2 IHG, Aeroplan, DoorDash, and Instacart) and people are able to PC to the OG Freedom still.

Or they are making room for the Apple Card.

Well that's a bummer, if true (see my icon lol).

Wish I could've gotten more out of the CFF 5% categories, but my CCC keeps beating it out. Furthermore, when I try to use my CFF to pay for gas through apps, it only ever triggers as 1% .

Don't know what I'll PC it to, if I choose to.

Good catch on spotting the landing page for the Freedom cards. Only Unlimited and Rise are now displayed.

I think they might have temporarily run out of materials. Or maybe there was too many requests. Regardless I always knew that it would be back. The Chase Freedom Flex is too nimble to to get knocked out.
