When you account for the 1.25x travel bonus being nerfed this card no longer becomes worth its AF, especially if $95 becomes $150. Its a card that has been used extensively in my house and is already on the chopping block. Raising the fee will ensure it gets PCd to a no annual fee card that gets SD'd.

Torn on whether i will keep card if goes to 150 AF as it sits now. I use it as still primary dining card as transfer points to Hyatt, also the small hotel credit along with primary rental car insurance. Not a huge AF increase but it seems like all banks are hiking AF and/or cutting benefits on cards recently. If it turns into a coupon book like many AMEX cards have become it will be gone certainly.

150 isn't crazy, but I guess it does put me on the fence about renewing it if there aren't any new benefits. The free travel and rental insurance + warranty extension makes it pretty useful to me. The category point rates are just fair relative to my other cards.

The way things are going with US Bank Smartly, I may end up doing BofA Platinum Honors again, and if so their Premium Rewards card seems like a better travel/overall card to me than the Sapphire after factoring in the increased point rate with the PH program. Will have to investigate what type of travel insurance benefits it has.

The Chase cards other than the co-branded ones aren't really of any interest to me at all, so I may just axe it isntead of PC.

I debated whether or not to start this thread, because I don't consider Reddit to be ultra reliable either. But there have been so many changes lately with Chase cards, that I thought this rumor looked quite plausible and warranted a "heads up". Aside from the Ritz-Carlton rumor walk-back, Dr. of Credit has had a pretty good recent track record.

It's not too much of a stretch to see this coming true.

The primary rental car insurance, travel insurance and the small travel credit make this card valuable for people that want an entry level travel card.

along with transfer to a slew of partners. Although can use INK for that route as well but different earning cats
