Citi Strata Elite Card to launch soon

Bloomberg is reporting that Citi confirmed plans to launch the Strata Elite in Q3 2025. The article is paywalled, but I've included the opening text excerpt below:

Citigroup Inc. is preparing to launch a premium credit card, returning to a competitive field as more banks target high-end customers with elaborate rewards offerings.

The bank is planning to launch a card named “Strata Elite” in the third quarter of the year that “rounds out our family of proprietary rewards cards,” it said in an earnings presentation Tuesday. The presentation did not include details on whether Citigroup will charge an annual fee for the card or what its specific rewards will be.

AA transfers, and possibly new benefits related to the Mastercard World Legend tier, could make the card compelling. I had the Citi Prestige card back in its early glory days, but dropped the card after multiple nerfs. Losing Admirals Club access and the ability to redeem for American Airlines revenue flights at 1.6 cents per point were killers for me. Based on that history, my prediction is that Strata Elite will be a strong contender at launch but nerfed within two years.

Edit to add: Possibly still on my radar if the SUB is good.

I will be getting this card as a test drive the first year. I will apply and get the bonus. I will PC my Citi Strata Premier to a 3rd CCC. So it will be CSE and 3 CCC setup with Citi.

I actually like the name World Legend. World Supreme is too urban and cringe, and there's not many other words than Legend that would compete with Infinite and not be cringe.

Annual Fee: $650
Point earning rate:
- Dining: 6x dining on certain days (Citi Nights – Fri & Sat nights) [Note: I don’t know if this means that it will earn 6x on certain Fri & Sat nights or that it will earn 6x every Fri & Sat AND on select Citi Nights]
- Citi travel portal: 12x
- No other bonus categories were revealed
Perks:
- AA Admirals Club access
- “Coupons” (without any additional information)
Transfers to AA: Not at first, but that should be coming later via a separate project.
Current Prestige cardholders will be product changed to the Strata Elite

I guess they may have to wait till Barclays is done with their AA card before transfers can take effect....not terribly impressed even with AAdmirals club...as they will cut that back when the "crowding" begins.....LOL

Admirals Club access will likely be capped at around 10 visits per year, similar to the American Express Platinum card. After that, they’ll probably introduce a spend requirement—something like needing to spend $75,000 annually to unlock unlimited access.

AA transfer is key. Funny about 6x Fri and Sat which on Sun - Thurs I have many AA dining restaurants in my area which would have meant 11x AA (if able to transfer) miles for dining, for 20% - 35% redemption on dining vs 14.50% - 21% redemption using CSR.

Pretty crappy for the Prestige holders, I would close the card for a sign-up bonus.

Citi Strata Elite debuts this weekend and replaces Prestige [Source Frequent Miler]

Citi recently announced that they will launch an ultra premium card, the Strata Elite card, in the third quarter of 2025. Well, we’re already in the third quarter, and a source reached out to me to say that the card should be available for applications this weekend.

Let's see if this rumor turns out to be true. With the way all the premium cards have been switching to niche coupons, the rumor is probably accurate.

So GURU says....SUB is 100,000 TY points after $4000 spend in 3 months....hopefully we see reality tomorrow......
