HSBC Cards

I used the pre-application on the HSBC site just out of curiousity and it came back as offering me their secured card. I'm very confused as to why they would offer me a secured card because I was approved for a Bank of America World Mastercard with World Points last week.

I don't understand why HSBC would offer me a secured card when my fico scores all range from 690-730.

Maybe they didn't like the recent inquiry(s)? I just tried out of curiosity and it offered me a dumpy card (non-rewards) despite having cards like Discover, BofA, and Amex in my portfolio.

Their link was a pain in the bu** to find. I remember apping 2 yrs ago and had the same issue. I found it by going to hsbccreditcard.com and clicked "start now" within any given featured CC. Entered the info and a preapproval offer came up. I then had the option to proceed but closed and moved on.
