Hi All and thanks for reading my experience. Approx 5 days ago I logged onto PP and noticed a $500 auto CLI + the app was redesigned from PPC TO PP MC. Then 3 days ago my CRs showed both the old PPC and the new PP MC - all info was exactly the same for both accounts, including new CL/current balance/payment history/account opening date/etc. Yesterday morning the old PPC account had been removed from my CRs, and a physical card arrived in afternoon mail. I logged into PP and noticed an additional $200 auto CLI, activated the card, verified autopay was still setup, then locked the physical card since don't intend to use it. Received the below card lock confirmation email that IMO defeats a primary purpose of locking the card:

We’re confirming you’ve locked your physical PayPal Credit Card. If you did not make this request or need assistance, let us know by calling customer service at (844) 209-7457.

Note that although your physical card is blocked and deactivated from other mobile wallets, you can still make online purchases using your PayPal Credit Card with your PayPal Wallet at checkout.

When you’re ready, you can unlock your physical card at any time in your PayPal app or at paypal.com.

I suppose they figure you paypal account is secure. If it wasn't, then someone could unlock you Paypal MC. And since there is no way to lock down your paypal account, there is no way to lock down any CC's associated with it.

As far as the card being used outside of paypal, sounds like it's locked down.

Makes sense to me. Although I would never be interested in this CC, there is better. Debit card, yes.

This is a feature, not a bug, in my book. Your card can only be used in this manner with your PayPal account. As long as you secure that, you have nothing to worry about. I've had my PayPal Cashback locked like this for ages and I've had no issues.
