Thanks for pointing that out, @Total_Synergy. It's a much better deal for me to get my wife the card you mentioned. I also see that the category of your choice gives 6% cash back for the first year!

I agree that CLIs with this card are easy. I have one and I love it. I guess I was getting swayed by Apple advertising -- they push the card at you when you make a purchase. Good to know I'm not missing anything there.

I'm thinking of applying for the Apple Card to finance a roughly 3k purchase (~250/mo at 0% APR * 12 months). While I have the cash for the purchase now, I'd like to use the cash for other things and pay for the purchase over time. Are there any other 0% cards I should take advantage of instead? Is this a bad idea? I can use an existing card and pay in full now, my usual strategy for purchases.

My credit scores are all in the 820 - 830 range.
I am 0/6, 0/12, 0/24.

Credit cards I have already:
FNBO Evergreen

GM Card
Wells Fargo Visa Signature
BOA custom cash
Citi Doublecash
BILT

Cards I might want in the future, in no particular order:

AMEX Blue Cash (everyday or preferred)
US Bank Cash Rewards
A Chase card

If you're really into Apple products, the Apple Card is great since the 0% is a reusable offer for Apple stuff.

If you're just looking for a credit card and don't care so much about Apple, I would avoid it.

It's very much a brand loyalty card, even though it tries to pretend to not be at times.

This is good information. I see that both Chase and AMEX offer 0% APR for 15 months on cards I'm interested in. My wife needs a BOA Custom Cash also, which offers the same thing. Now I only need to figure out which card to get.

Hi @James3, if your wife needs/wants the BoA Custom Cash, you can select "3% cashback for Online Shopping" for your initial month and buy all your Apple stuff online that way to get the same 3% back on spend but with BoA 15 months at 0% with their SUB (which you could pay down monthly or balloon at the end) vs. Apple 12 months. She can change 3% categories every month as desired. BoA probably is giving higher SLs and better CLIs as well.

Lots of cards offer 0% for 12-24 months right now. If you want the Apple Card for its rewards, that’s fine. But I wouldn’t get it specifically for the 0% APR. Cards like Wells Fargo Active Cash and Chase Freedom Unlimited have 0% promotions and rewards that are at least as good.
