New U.S. Bank credit card targeted deals - earn up to $100 just for using your card

I saw this deal in my account starting Monday, and I signed up for it on Monday. Then I forgot if it was 10/15/20 swipes or 5/10/15, or what the combo was. And couldn't find it anywhere in my account (and I searched), so I was going to call on it today to write it down (since I didn't screenshot it). But, then, I got an email with it today.

It's only for my Sheild card (not my other three U.S. Bank cards) and even when I saw it in the app, it specified my Sheild card. I was hoping it was good on any of my cards, but I'll stil take it.

Pretty fair deal:

@crystal626 For me, I've only ever really seen deals in my email. However, on Monday, I noticed a deal when I went in the app, cliked on the card, and below "view more transactions" (which right now just has a picture of cards and says "Add an Authorized User: share your cards and enjoy the benefits") I just noticed a box that said "earn up to $100 just for using your card," so I clicked on it and enrolled in the program then and there. And I thought, "Hmm... did I miss the email? Did it go into my spam folder?"

But then this morning, Wednesday, they emailed me about it.

So, now I know to look below the "view more transactions" in each credit card, when glossing over my transactions. Or wait for the emails. But, that's where the deal was first brought to my attention.

I think this reward scheme could only come from US Bank! Assuming $10 purchases, you will get $20 for spending $50, a pretty amazing 40% cashback. But if you really go all out and make 50 transactions, you get $100 back for spending $500, a still great 20% but less good. Why not keep the cashback rate the same to encourage heavy use?

@bs1234 I thought the same thing. 40% to 33 1/3 % to 20%. It goes down the more transactions you do. Nothing to complain about, but yeah, I noticed why not keep it the same. Still... 20% is hard to beat on regular spend if you've got 50 x $10 transactions in you for two months and get $100 back.

I got this exact same offer on my US Bank Cash+ card the other day. Each transaction must be at least $10.

Spend $50 = $20 return.... 40%

Spend $150 = $50 return.... 33%

Spend $500 = $100 return.... 20%
