It would make your CR obsolete, but otherwise, I would say no. Free $100 annually without any spend. The only other catch, especially in comparison to the CR, you have to redeem in $50 increments. Keep one in your wallet and one at the house as a backup. If I kept both around, I'd change the CR to a mastercard just for funsies.

No downside really. All around great card. The only minor annoyance, as someone already mentioned, is the $50.00 minimum redemption increment required, but it’s a small inconvenience for such a solid card with great growth potential.

If you're not eligible for NFCU membership, that would be a big obstacle. It doesn't have the biggest bonus either. Other than that, it's great.

I would before making the change search Capital One Travel Hotels, Capital One Travel Airlines. Those are what will give 5x on travel. Does that work for you? I would consider keeping Savor as back up in case you go to a place that does accept AMEX.

The negs I have found are the $50 minimum CB redemption as mentioned upstream. However, you can get gift cards starting at $25.

The other thing I don't like - and this is probably for any NFCU card - or, actually, NFCU itself - you can't move your CB out to an external account. I had $hundreds of dollars after getting the new member / open any credit card bonus ($300 I think?) and my Flagship welcome offer was the elevated $400 so trying to get this $700+ out of NFCU was a pain. I think I ultimately ended up having to pull the money from another institution.

Not really a negative but they do increase the Welcome Offer from time to time so you may want to wait for that, if possible. $350 to $400.

Keep in mind the annual Amazon credit is for $139, it won't cover the prime tax if your state taxes prime. Still, a very sweet perk.

And, while only a negative for some of us, it's frustrating to see other mF members posting pretty sweet offers they get from their NFCU cards, yet I haven't received one single offer after my initial Welcome Offer.

Also, keep in mind that while the Flagship does get called a Travel card, it really is a CB card. So when you say that Flagship is 3X on travel and the Amex Gold card is 3X on travel, you're not exactly comparing apples to apples.

I can do way better than 2% and 3% cash back so, for me, this card doesn't have any daily value, and I'm in it only for the annual prime credit.

If you can make use of the perks, then go for it. I use all of them, free Prime and I have my wife using the TSA perk (I have mine through my Amex card). $49 for a Prime membership is worth it in itself if you are a Prime member. I actually have the Flagship set up as my default account on Amazon to ensure I get the perk when prime renews, but I select and use my Chase Prime Visa when checking out so I can get the 5% cash back instead of the 2%. The travel features are ok -- mainly insurance, no foreign transaction fees, etc., but the consumer travel appeal is much better with my Amex Platinum. I do get bonus offers about once a year, but this seems to be hit or miss as some people don't seem to get them. I will admit, this was my first Big Boy card that was not sub-prime and had a decent limit from a few years ago, so I will probably keep it a long time to help build up my revolving history.

There's actually two different defaults you can choose. Default payment method within your Amazon wallet would ideally be the Prime card. Then you can go into 'Prime' under your account section and select which card pays your recurring annual fee.
