Interesting. With a 10k threshold, it does seem like there should be a greater reward considering the main SUB offer is only $4k spend for 75,000 miles.

I could see bumping the normal $4k/3mo to $6k for a 100k promo period, but $10k feels more like a business card requirement.

It's actually a worse SUB than the normal one. I think they're going to get less new apps, not more.

I'm planning on picking up a Venture in February (I have a trip coming up in April that will cover half the bonus requirement) and for about three seconds I considered this new Venture X deal instead... then I did the math and came to my senses, LOL.

For someone who's looking for a single 'everything' card and will be spending the money anyway it's a decent offer, but for most of us on here it's a non-starter. Now that I've typed that out I have to wonder, maybe that's what they're going for? 🤔 Things that make you go hmmm....

(My possible Venture app assumes I'm still pre-approved in February, which is anything but certain. I'm sitting on my hands until then to improve my odds, though.)

They're taking it to a new ridiculous level on business Venture X also. $150k in 6 months.

-Earn 400,000 bonus miles:
-200K miles once you spend $30K in the first 3 months.

Has any done a cost comparison of Capital One Travel versus you making the identical reservations? I am trying to understand if Capital One 1 travel price is padded to give you the points / miles in the price. I. Other words if Capital One One costs more is the additional cost what you get in points.

When I looked for a travel rewards credit card Illoked Venture and others. I applied for and have this card. I prefer to do my own reservations etc. For me this the card I chose

It has no annual fee. I already have a flat 2 percent cash back. The Venture card that has 2% miles /points I have zero interest in

I don’t think this card is for most people hanging out in credit card forums. It’s for people who want to pretend they’re Michael B. Jordan and post “experiences” on tiktok, or people who travel so much they hate their lives. If you’re a normal traveler, don’t waste your money!

@Patient957 The high business sub makes me think they're trying to weed out people who have a "business" but not really who open business cards anyways (like many who have ridden the Ink train that's going away). I don't even consider business cards because I don't have any income besdies my W2 and whatever I may earn off of any savings or investments. Nonetheless, I was ok with the std 75k for 4k/3mo personal card sub when I got my VX. Thus far it's been a keeper for me and was my first 10k+ card post BK.

For the right person - including many in this community - it's a good card (some might even say great).

If someone doesn't mind booking through travel portals and they travel at least once a year the annual fee drops to effectively $0, and people who fly out of an airport with a Capital One lounge likely put value on the lounge access. Then there's the point multipliers, and so on.

That said, it's not for me (I've mentioned this up-thread, and in other threads). I don't currently fit the demographic the card is designed for, and that's OK. That doesn't mean it's a bad card for everybody, though.

I'm a pretty normal traveler. I make money off this card. I'm wondering why Capital One wastes so much money on me.

Current spend/bonus on X card makes no sense. Better off with the bonus on regular venture. 4k for 75k or 10k for 100k.. It isn't mathing out to me. Can do two regular bonuses on other cards as well and be alot cheaper on spend and basically same bonus or better. It is like they are trying to push people away for the Venture X with this bonus imho unless you can care less and only carry 1 or 2 cards but definitely not a churners card/bonus at the moment
