I’ll start with the worst: google.com. The search results have gone way down in recent years, and the cards/sites they highlight usually don’t make a lot of sense. Like, do I really want to see Mastercard’s sponsored page? No.

In terms of the best credit card site, I’d probably go with WalletHub. They seem the most honest.

It will be very hard to find one, comprehensive, unbiased site (not pushing cards with links that give them a kick back). I am not sure if you are looking for travel or Cash Back cards but I have found this Reddit CB card, by category, thread to be pretty good. Albeit a bit dated.

And one that gives enough detail for you determine if the card would really work (or otherwise) for you! As a now-dated example, when the Altitude Reserve first came out, the Real-Time Rewards feature got pretty little mention, probably because, like the USB reps, reviewers didn't quite understand. It turned out to be quite a game changer, going from a card where you had to use the portal to maximize travel rewards to a much more general one.

Lesson: the reviewer has to know all the features and you have to know what will be important to you.

But in context: really not ALL that critical. If a credit card doesn't quite work out, not the end of the world!

In a word, I would trust none of them in isolation. Other than reading actual user reviews on forums (like My FICO, /reddit sub threads, flyer talk), they all are corrupted to a degree of 'selling' cards if the websites have sponsored links to apply. The saving grace for many is that they have actual reviews. The better websites have longer reviews and are willing to point out the negatives as much as the positives.

I'm especially put off from any claims of "best card for ______" since they may overlook outlying cards or make assumptions that aren't universally applicable in the process of over-simplifying the market or pointing readers towards a preferred card.

My suggestion:

Do your own research. It's not that difficult but it may take some time. Feel free to read any or all of those sponsored link review websites. Some of them aren't bad and may actually give you a good overview. However, don't rely on any single one! I also make a point of **NEVER** using their links to apply. I always go to the main lender website. I don't like to reinforce the idea of giving any of them kickbacks. Try to find websites with actual reviews that go several paragraphs, that mention both positives and negatives, and that offer other comparable cards for consideration. No card is perfect, and more precisely, no card is perfect for EVERYONE. ALWAYS go to the lender's own webpage and read it carefully, top to bottom. Read the footnotes and click on the links for "Offer Details" and "Terms" such as APRs and fees. Save webpages, make notes, and start computer files with details as you go to keep it straight.

You can find a list of the largest US banks by asset size >HERE< or the largest US credit unions >here<. Do a quick web search for the name and then select personal or business and 'credit cards" on their webpage to see what they offer. I also like "Deposit Accounts" website for researching banks and credit unions. >Deposit Accounts< Among other things, they have a "Big List of Credit Unions that Anyone can Join." I also pay attention when I'm driving around locally. If I see a lender with whom I'm not familiar, I'll do a web search or use "Deposit Accounts" to check them out.

If you're looking for a particular type of card or reward, you can find many prior threads on My FICO detailing our member's popular options. If you don't see what you want, start a thread topic and ask for feedback.

All of this said, one website I found that seems to do a pretty good job for many major cards is The Motley Fool.

I would also agree that Nerd Wallet can be a decent source of information, but again, I wouldn't use any of these websites in isolation or without doing your own independent research.
