I don't frequent the Credit Cards forum much, so perhaps the question is unkowable, but I will give it a whirl:

I have a Chase Prime card, and it is my lowest Tradeline limit. It is about 30% of my average tradeline limit on my revolving cards.

Opened Feb 2024, so approaching two years. It is my only Chase product.

IF 5/24 pertains only to revolvers, I am 4/24.

If it pertains to all new accounts, I am 5/24 with a vehicle installment loan.

I have clicked on the "credit limit increase" drop down menu button maybe a dozen times over the last 6 months. Every time the response is very specific, and identical:

A credit limit increase isn't available for this card right now. Updating your income may increase the availability of offers.

My income is almost surely not the actual issue, but I have "updated" it a few times with a minor change.

My suspicion was always that, until I move beyond 5/24 (next month-ish), I will get this message. But I have also read anecdotes that installment loans do not count in 5/24, and that the Prime card is not subject to the rule regardless.

Frankly, I think my profile attached to this card is wonky and preventing the allowance of a CLI. There is no address listed in my profile, and I can not add one. Clearly they have my address, as they sent me the card and other communications, despite one not being listed in my profile online. I even attempted to call Chase customer service several times about a year ago, but they apparently could not achieve the simple act of correcting/updating/entering an address on my profile.

Note, I am not asking why I am DENIED for a CLI, I am asking why it is not allowed to be REQUESTED.

So my question is ... is there evidence the message about the adress IS in fact a red herring for 5/24, or have others has a problem with a messed up 'profile' not allowing a CLI.

And before you suggest I call Chase, have you ever done that?

The only time I been able to request a CLI through the app was when I was under 5/24. Even though the approved my Prime card at 12/24.

Swimguy

A "sort of update" to this.

I think, by specific date, I would not go under 5/24 until next week. According to Chase behaviour as I understand it, this means 5/24 would actually be removed at the start of the next month, March 1. At least, that is generally what I gather. (It's more like 5/24+)

The Prime card still will not allow a CLI request. I decided to look at the Chase pre approved interface, and it confirmed CSR showed me as pre approved. I decided to spin the wheel in the interest of science and was immediately confirmed for CSR at a tradeline 6 times the Prime Card.

So now:
I have a new INQ, card, high tradeline, AAoA, and AoYA.
I am as confused as ever on 5/24.

An update of sorts, I think that Amazon Chase card is broken. Still no opportunity to request a CLI, despite being 2/24 and this card being the lowest credit line of all my cards by a long margin. It is well over two years old.

As said earlier, my other Chase card has a CL 6 times the Amazon one. It's weird.
